transitioning from living in your parents\u2019 house to a college dorm is not easy. but don\u2019t worry, everyone eventually gets used to it. here are five must-haves that will make life a lot easier during this overwhelming time.<\/p>\n

1. hanging bedside organizer<\/h2>\n

dorms usually have very limited space, so you probably won\u2019t have a bedside table like you had at home. a hanging organizer is great for storing anything you\u2019ll need easy access to during the night, such as glasses, a book, or water.<\/p>\n

2. step stool<\/h2>\n

whether you\u2019re putting up posters or trying to reach the higher shelves in your closet, a step stool comes in handy, especially if you\u2019re short.<\/p>\n

3. towel wrap<\/h2>\n

most students aren\u2019t lucky enough to have their own bathroom, so they\u2019ll usually have to walk down the hall when they want to take a shower. juggling a shower caddy while trying to hold up a towel can be challenging, so find a towel wrap with elastic to keep it up on its own.<\/p>\n

4. hot water boiler<\/h2>\n

a hot water boiler takes up less space than a keurig and is also very multipurpose. you\u2019ll find yourself always needing boiling water, whether it\u2019s for tea, oatmeal or ramen.<\/p>\n

5. sleeping bag and pad<\/h2>\n

you can\u2019t host friends in your dorm without somewhere for them to sleep. if you think you\u2019ll ever have visitors at some point during the year, a sleeping bag and pad are essentials.<\/p>\n
