reschedule anything you have to do that you can\u2019t be distracted for<\/h2>\n try to reschedule any important tests or presentations on that day. you\u2019ll likely be distracted the entire time thinking about that acceptance or rejection letter. when your mind is somewhere else, it\u2019s hard to do well. take the test when you can devote all of your mental energy to it.<\/p>\n
if it\u2019s possible, it might even be nice to take the whole day of school off. if you\u2019re not really there<\/em>, then don\u2019t go. \n <\/p>\ntry to calm down<\/h2>\n this will definitely be one of the more stressful days in your life. you\u2019ll likely be jittery and have a hard time keeping still. do whatever it takes for you to relax.<\/p>\n
\ndrink some decaffeinated tea.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\nwork out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\ndo some yoga.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\ntake deep breaths.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\nsqueeze a stress ball.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\ntake a hot bath or shower.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\nsmell some lavender.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\ncuddle with your pet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\nwatch a funny tv show or movie.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nif you are calm, you will likely be less upset if the decision is not the one you wanted. \n <\/p>\n
reward yourself (whether you get in or not)<\/h2>\n whether you want to go out to dinner with friends, see a movie with family, or eat too much ice cream while watching netflix, give yourself a reward after you\u2019ve found out the decision. you deserve it after all of that hard work!<\/p>\n
if you\u2019re celebrating, great! if not, at least you\u2019re doing something that will make you happy and take your mind off of the bad news. \n <\/p>\n
