not necessarily, himani. in fact, amherst and other universities are quite used to seeing transcripts that don’t go all the way up to the very end of high school. instead, “official” really means an original copy of a transcript, certified in some way by your high school, as opposed to a photocopy. often, universities want your high school to mail the transcript directly to them, or send transcripts that meet other “official transcript” requirements. talk to your high school guidance counselor or the admissions office of your target school if you have more questions about sending acceptably official documents. 🙂
