hi lucas, this blog post does a good job of explaining the 4.0 gpa scale. in this scale, some advanced classes are weighted higher than a 4.0. so for example, if you get an a in an ap history class, that would equal 5.0 points on the scale. that’s how students get a gpa higher than 4.0.
