you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

magoosh helped me a lot with my verbal. the videos on verbal text completion questions and strategies are excellent. the other thing that has highly useful for my quant preparation was the feature timed tests. overall, i believe that having a magoosh subscription and few other books are enough to do well on gre.

i was nervous about taking the gre because i haven’t done this kind of math since high school. i also was trying to prepare for it on top of a stressful work schedule, and didn’t have a lot of free time to study. magoosh’s practice questions turned out to be very similar types to what was on the test, so i knew what to expect. the detailed explanations for each question also helped me significantly in re-learning a lot of these math concepts (as well as strategies for doing well on the verbal portion too!). the mobile app was also helpful in reviewing while on the go, when i didn’t always have my laptop with me. despite only preparing about a month before the test, i did fairly well and i got decently above the minimum scores required for my anticipated grad program. thank you so much!

i did take the gre before in 2012 and i studied on my own with materials from ets. i did so poorly during the test that i cancelled my score completely. magoosh helped prepare me to go into the test this time fully confident that i had given myself the best possible chance to get a good score. i wouldn't have been able to do nearly as well without magoosh.

practice problems and explanation videos helped the most. i put off studying until the last minute and was cramming for 3 weeks, and so i appreciate that magoosh encouraged me to do practice problems every day from the start that way i could see what areas i needed to focus on and what areas i could breeze past.
