you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

magoosh was a huge help for a few reasons. specifically, the large amount of questions available to study from and the program’s ability to provide useful information like difficulty, timing, and detailed explanation.

magoosh helped revive all my forgotten math skills and helped me lock in on key ideas on the exam

practiced a ton. almost every question you had available multiple times.

really helped me nail down some math concepts that i'd forgotten. helped me to feel comfortable with the tricks the gre likes to impose on the quant comparision questions.

the verbal was also very helpful. on top of learning some new words, it just helped me gain an intuition for what words fit in various sentences... an intuition for were the line is on how synomomous a word must be in the harder sentence equivalence questions. also, the reading comp questions helped me feel more confident in picking out passage inferences, etc.

i think it was as much about familiarzing myself with the types of questions gre asks, and the common traps they employ, as it was learning new vocab words or math concepts.

finally, my speed greatly increased on the math through learning some of the mental tricks mike shows in his videos.

well, it only helped my score by one point....

i found the video explanations after each practice question extremely helpful. i also liked following the advanced one month plan. i also took a ton of the practice tests which helped a lot with timing and stamina.

the problems, videos and flashcards were amazing. i wish i had started maghoosh earlier in my study process.

this was my only study tool. magoosh is how i re-learned all the math i hadn't done in a decade.

with verbal flashcards

magoosh was great in helping me build the best approach and mindset based how the test might set up traps. it broke down the daunting questions to being really doable. the vocab flash cards app infinitely improved my verbal performance.

it provided an easy to navigate study plan, with clear lessons.

the tips and tricks i learned the videos definitely helped me focus my learning on concepts that would be useful for the exam.

the vocabulary app was great and the videos walking me through my previous mistakes on the quant problems prepared me to improve on my scores for the test day. i’d never scored above a 130 on practice test and then got a 336 on test day.
