you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

magoosh helped me from the start to the end. magoosh questions align with gre better than any other prep material out there.

i am a non-traditional student (almost 40!), and it had been nearly 20 years since i had used a lot of the required math skills on the gre. mike mcgarry was a wonderful instructor, really teaching you the why behind the various concepts, and helping to develop your number sense, which i found hugely useful. i bumped my math score nearly 20 points from my first practice test to the actual gre. i had an overall score of 331, which was well beyond my goal of 320, and magoosh was a huge part of that.

the concept were explained in ease and detail,the questions were solved in a linear fashion,that is easy to understand and implement.the same strategy i used in the gre .
also estimation was a large part of double checking,even finding answers which i found hard and many a times my wrong answer i corrected by estimation after seeing that something was wrong with the answer

i graduated from university in 2008, high school in 2005. so it has been a long time since i had to know algebra, geometry, etc. i only had a short time to study (4 weeks) plus working full time at a new job, and taking care of my family/house. magoosh came up with a great study schedule that helped me maximize my time to focus on where i could make the biggest improvements in the shortest time.

prepared me for the pacing of the test, which questions to skip, which ones to answer straight away. magoosh also got me reacquainted with math concepts i had forgotten, and didn't know to brush up on the last time i took the gre. i was also at least somewhat familiar with every vocabulary word used in the gre, thanks to magoosh.

magoosh was fantastic! it familiarized me with the format of the gre, gave great refreshers on fundamental gre concepts, and gave some solid strategies for answering questions. specific pacing tips, like skipping multiple answer problems, helped tremendously in allocating my time to maximize my score. i consider myself a good test taker, but the gre is different from any exam i've ever taken, so these strategies were huge in achieving my goal scores. even better, i was able to get at/above average scores for all of the top universities i am considering!
