you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

the video explanations were extremely clear and helpful in my preparation for the test. it was like having a real life teacher one on one.

magoosh was exactly what i needed to kickstart my gre prep. the video explanations for the practice questions really helped in committing to memory important concepts and traps within questions to watch out for. i was unfamiliar with some of the more colloquial usages of idioms and secondary vocab meanings but magoosh's verbal questions really helped reinforce these idioms/vocab meanings. i can honestly say that if not for these questions (particularly all those double-negative questions!), my vocab score wouldn't have seen such a significant improvement.

also, the practice questions were incredibly addictive and the dashboard progress piechart very encouraging. i liked how responsive the team was in translating user feedback into further improvements to the already intuitive user interface throughout the site. and i should add that the quick turnaround time in email responses that were both detailed and sincere were very appreciated. magoosh is definitely in a class of its own. the product was well worth every penny and i owe my score to the magoosh team. thanks again!

the instructional videos were big, particularly for the math review, since it's been a few years since i took a math class. the practice problems were the most helpful resource, but the advantage of your product over others was the explanational videos that followed each problem, and the opportunity to link back and review particular lessons or notes that corresponded to that problem. in general, however, i most appreciated you sharing the more fundamental philosophy of the gre, what it is they are ultimately trying to test. statements such as "they are really looking for you to apply ____" or "demonstrate ___" or "not be tripped up by ____" were very helpful in just focusing my approach to gre problems. they taught me to approach every question very methodically, to be on the lookout for particular clues and traps, and ultimately this made the exam much more manageable (particularly near the end). finally, i appreciated that the practice problems were challenging and prepared me for the very hardest questions i saw on the test.

i, frankly, took a leap of faith while choosing magoosh based on the popular opinion among users on the net and the magoosh which is plain outstanding. i also wanted online coaching specifically to get acclimatised with the actual gre. using magoosh was the best decision i took as it helped me to clearly pick out loopholes in my prep and identify me specific weak points. also, chris was special in the way verbal was handled. i am glad i chose magoosh and wish this dynamic young team all the very best!

was just nice to do lots of practice questions

over all the product was really good but the verbal section was much more difficult than the practice question that i did on magoosh. as for math, the magoosh material is more than enough.
you just need to be smart on the test day and try to pick up the short cuts hiding within the questions.

the video lectures were good and were available all the time unlike books, which you need to carry. the questions provided were almost on par with my gre exam. so, it was a nice experience practicing with them. my estimated score in magoosh dashboard was almost the same except for 3-4 marks more in gre. magoosh helped me clarify my doubts and always replied to my mails atmost in 1 day. overall, it helped me a lot.

magoosh was a huge help to my studying process. i couldn't imagine scoring so high on the verbal without the insightful advice and videos for every single section. just working through those videos truly made me see what the gre wanted out of those responses. i can't even compare magoosh to a textbook because no book gave me insight like magoosh did.

at a time when i didn't know where to start, i started following magoosh blogs. after reading the ets official guide i found that the questions on the magoosh blogs were very similar in style. i rarely buy online preparation products because they lank in credibility. many products reveal too little about their product, but claim too high about their product. don't fall for those products. there are no books in the market that provide so many high quality questions in verbal section. almost 500 of them. the ease of use, video lessons, prompt replies for doubts, completeness of the material and number of practice questions available are among other reasons which make this a better product in market than others.

it helped me by perfecting my math skills, and really focusing on the logic-based math as i am really not a logic-based math kind of person. the counting lessons really helped a lot and it helped me identify tricks that the gre uses so that i could fly past them in the comparison areas.

for verbal, i think it helped me gain practice and get familiar with the way the verbal is set up. the gre definitely used a lot of the words that i have seen before in this test prep, so it helped me in that regard.

subscription to magosh was really a great decision. the quality of the questions as well as their classification in various difficulty levels was really very helpful in preparing for actual gre. moreover individual question timing and comparision with the average time helped me improve my speed. and the best part was the video explanations for each question.

it really helps me master the gre vocab through tc and se. those tc and se are really challenging compared with other study guides. and the video explanation is a must for me to further understand the traps and tricks behind each questions. i really want to thank chris for posting many useful tips on magoosh blog. i went through all of them before i took the actual test, so it was a blast that i hardly find any vocab i didn't understand in the actural tc and se. the reading was much harder than what i took before i guess, and that's where i spent most of the time struggling.

i had less than 1 month to study for the gre. at first, i used princeton review's gre book and dabbled in the cliffnotes math review. two weeks into my preparation, i came across magoosh and paid for the material in hopes of having more "computer-based" practice. i got more than just practice questions- the videos were a great way to learn tips and techniques that, unfortunately, you cannot get in a princeton review book. the pr book was good as primer, but to get a bit more serious into the studies, you need something like magoosh. plus, it's always nice to have a "partner" while studying for a standardized test (yes, the narrators were my study partners- thanks guys!) the only "regret" i have is not finding magoosh on the first day of studying! i went through roughly 70% of the videos within 10 days, and i didn't even answer over 100 questions for both sections (there were 500 questions leftover). who knows how much more prepared i would have been for the gre had i started magoosh from the very beginning.

so how did this product help me? well...the questions were comprehensive and emulated test day circumstances. the videos were fantastic learning tools, and the answer explanations were succinct and extremely helpful.

and to put it in another perspective: i took two practice tests before taking the actual gre. the results ranged from the following- verbal= 148-156 and quantitative= 150-154.

with that said, being able to break the 150 point barrier on both sections with only 10 days of studying magoosh is pretty impressive. it isn't an uber spectular score, but again, for less than two weeks of "serious studying" (overall 23 days of studying including using the pr book), i'll take it.

it did not just help me , it lifted me up and gave me a kick when i had almost thought of quitting to prepare for the gre. magoosh i owe my score to you guys. with your to-the-point practice questions of which none of them are the same one gets to understand every possible type of question the gre might throw in your way and the amazing blogs by chris who i have come to adore in my preparation has been of infinite help to make studying more fun, even after the gre , your blog "should i take the gre again? is it worth it?" has given me good insights.

i'd like to sum up saying i would recommend magoosh to anyone in a beat , i already have and thank you for all the help , it wasn't easy to work and study at the same time until i found you guys. i hope my score gets me somewhere , and if it does then i'd owe my success to magoosh. i am sure you are only gonna get better and better from here.

i cannot say enough good things about magoosh! the lessons gave me a lot of good tips and helped me approach problems in a more methodical way. as a result, i didn't waste time trying to figure out how i should set up the problem. the practice questions covered a wide range of subjects and difficulty levels. i think the video explanations were far better than the explanations in the books that i used when i took the gre the first time. the money back guarantee and the ability to track my progress provided a great motivation to study, something i lacked the last time around. overall, magoosh is extremely user-friendly and a steal when compared to programs offered by kaplan, etc.!

the videos were extremely thorough and covered every topic i encountered on the actual exam. if i needed extra work on a particular subject i could simply re-watch a video. the best part about magoosh, however, were the practice questions. the online format allowed me to more closely experience how the actual test would feel and going back over questions i got wrong really helped solidify concepts.

it helped reach the level of complexity necessary to tackle the math questions. i had already read kaplan and cliffnotes and when i bought magoosh it was like i didn't know anything at all.. turns out the gre is exactly like magoosh and nothing like the rest! thank you for answering questions so fast, it makes us feel like you care and that is very reassuring!

your product was by far the best in helping me prepare for the gre. i didn’t have a lot of time to begin with and the fact that this was my first time studying and taking the exam was pretty stressful. i have purchased many study material (barrons, kaplan, ets) and came across your product on youtube when i was desperate, searching to find something to help and help quick (had a month only). your videos are phenomenal! the practice questions i think really prepped me well (even though i didn’t even finish half of them). i liked how i was able to do several mock tests using different difficulty levels and timing myself throughout. thank you guys; will definitely recommend you.

it really helped me with the strategies and questions for both verbal and quantitative.in fact 90% of the quantitative were either logically or approach wise similar to your question bank.verbal strategies were awesome too.overall it really helped and expedited my preparation which i carried out in 2 months.

i had bought online tests and had finished the ets guide.but i wasn't getting the confidence or a feel of completeness in preparation. then i came across magoosh.(sounds scripted, but its true! ) what i found most useful is -
best practice questions - adaptive practice is great !
quant - questions have the right difficulty level and time required.
video lessons - very engaging and provide right content in a short time. perfect to store key concepts of a topic in your memory for ever. good for revision too.
strategies - by magoosh for all kinds of problems provided are really cool.while giving the gre , i could almost hear chris (magoosh) walk me through the problems using his strategies for verbal. inspires confidence!
blog - magoosh blog is also really helpful. vocabulary and mnemonics are entertaining and make gre preparation enjoyable. really good break to read all the blogs in between rigorous practice sessions

in all , i really felt magoosh made the difference increasing my score by 5-10 points.
