i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

magoosh provides lots of practice material,which is really essential for a student to score higher.the review system is excellent,where in we can filter the questions of our choice.i will give a two thumbs up to this course!!!!

magoosh's prompt response makes magoosh a great service. whenever i have a question about a gre text completion question, rachel will always get back to me within 24 hours. for me, magoosh is the best gre practices i can ever find online. with the twisted sentences and some recondite words, magoosh makes the practice questions invaluable. what i like most is that i can always customize my section with a timer on it. for me, gre is all about retention, stamina and pace and magoosh helps me cultivate all these habits. i have recommended magoosh to many of my friends and they all sign up for this tremendous service.

magoosh has fantastic prep material for the gre. the videos are great, they show the tactics of how to approach a problem-both in math and verbal. the video solutions to all the questions are extremely useful too, since it tells us the thought process to logically arrive at the solution.
the question bank is vast and very comprehensive, and the verbal questions are very similar to what you'll see on the gre. the math on magoosh is a bit harder than the real gre, but that's a good thing because after doing magoosh, the math sections on my gre was a breeze!
the "estimated score" is also very accurate and the statistics such as percentages of questions answered right as well as the time per question provide a great motivation.

i was studying with a myriad of materials but didn't know how to focus my study. i was going through each book haphazardly, studying where and what i thought i might need. once i found magoosh, 3 weeks before my test date, i was able to focus my study with one product. magoosh made it easy for me to see what i needed to practice, and my areas of strength. it helped me to isolate areas in math that needed extra review and allowed me to spend less time on the areas i understood already.

the lessons on magoosh were clear and understandable. i loved that the questions had video explanations and links to the lessons. it made it so easy to review the related concepts immediately after a question. toward the end of my study, i found the magoosh gre vocabulary ebook and used that to brush up on vocabulary.

not only did magoosh provide great practice and study materials, having access to the computer format made it so that, when i took the real test, i forgot a few times that i was taking it! i remember thinking, "oh, at the end of this quiz i'll see my answers and review," because it looked so similar to magoosh's practice format.

after taking two practice tests, my highest score with magoosh was 313. i managed to get 3 points higher than predicted- for a total of 316!

magoosh was invaluable in preparing me for the actual gre test. i would recommend it to anyone considering gre prep materials!

i am a swedish part time student and a mom of a ten month old baby. two tiny months was all the time i had to brush up math that i hadn't given one thought for 12 years. i was in trouble but magoosh saved me. i immediately felt i at home with the user friendly format. magoosh provided me with digestible videos instead of long, boring texts.

i took the gre three times and for the first two i felt really disappointed with myself. my verbal scores were really low. on my first official gre test, i got q161/v152. on my second attempt, i achieved the score of q159/v153, which was a turning point for me.

after my second test, i figured that there had to be something wrong with the way i study because my overall score actually got worse. thus, i decided to give magoosh a try. i spent three weeks before my third exam working with magoosh and just going through all of the lesson videos. also, i customized my own practice quizzes for maths and verbal, which i believe helped me significantly in my most recent gre. for the first time, i felt that the real gre was easier than i thought it would be. during my third attempt, i felt the questions were easier because i had been practicing with magoosh customized quizzes with 'very hard' and 'hard' difficulties. moreover, magoosh familiarized me with the real gre features; i felt really comfortable taking the test because i was practicing with a very similar product at home.

magoosh was critical in my gre preparation. i used the online product extensively from building my study schedule to tackling hard math problems by customizing practicing quiz. magoosh also has some great tutors like chris and mike, who can not only explain complex topics in lucid manner but are also well connected and provided constant updates on whatever changes they foresee in exam pattern (make sure to follow their blog for some valuable tips).

i think , in addition to manhattan guides, magoosh should be the go-to resource for all gre aspirants

refreshed me on all the math concepts. provided gre-like test questions with varied gre-like difficulty. provided assistance/tutoring whenever i needed via communication by email. provided supplementary materials to study and reviews of other gre products, which was essential for me because i did a lot of extra study in addition to magoosh. gave me a realistic idea of just how much i could improve my score.

i can't say enough about this product. i had procrastinated for about four months on the gre. i couldn't get a fixed plan in my head about how to study, especially for the quantitative section. i purchased two study books, looked through them, and got ready one weekend to launch. i inserted one of the study cds into my mac only to find out it was only for pc. wow (that's another story)! after reviewing a bunch of forums, i kept seeing magoosh come up in multiple posts. i went to the site, looked around, and bought a membership. that same day, i also signed up to take the gre three weeks later. i was committed!

i spent a lot of time over those 21 days studying via magoosh. i actually started enjoying the studying process (really, i know that sounds weird, but the site is very supportive, intuitive and easy to use). i quickly started narrowing the universe and focusing the majority of my study hours on the quant. sections that i was actually making progress in. on some...there just isn't enough time in the universe to make a difference. : )

the day before the test, i took a practice test and made a 310. i had to have 291 to pass---passing is the purpose! i went into the test feeling good and gave it all i had.

i truly don't think i would be over this hurdle without magoosh. oh, did i say i'm 56 and graduated from undergrad school in 1978. i've been taking grad. courses and have all as but was letting the gre nearly paralyze me. thank you.

it helped focus my study and gave me verbal explanations to all the lessons which is my preferred learning style. it allowed me to do all of my practice questions on the computer so i could get used to the computerized questions.

magoosh is fantastic! i was initially hesitant to sign up for an online prep program, as they're usually so expensive. magoosh is affordable and it still gave me all the tools i needed to prepare for the gre. studying for the test went from overwhelming to enjoyable. having hundreds of practice problems at my disposal made all the difference in building my confidence for the test.

i started by working through kaplan's gre premier book, the offical ets guide, and kaplan's gre math work book.

i felt that the kaplan books and the ets official guide did not adequately prepare me for the standard deviation questions on the test.

round 2

i knew i could do better, so i installed anki (an android vocab flashcard app) on my phone. i reviewed the gre decks i downloaded from their website for free and reviewed around 50 cards on average/day.

i then bought princeton review's cracking the gre 2013. i found this book to be the most helpful regarding strategy and improving my timing, especially for the math and writing section.

my goal was to get a 150 on quantitative and i was really surprised that my verbal had climbed so much. i needed above a 70% on quantitative for on of my grad schools so i knew i would have to take the test again.

round 3

i finally found magoosh. i sent in my scores in case i needed to take advantage of their high score guarantee. i was skeptical of their claim to increase my cumulative score by 5 points especially after i had already done so much studying and taken the gre twice.

i was only able to finish about 1/2 of the magoosh questions. i found the math questions to be a much needed challenge. they reduced the intimidation factor during the real gre since they were more difficult. i also continued to review vocabulary flash cards on my phone regularly.

in addition i started using magoosh's recommended 90 day advanced study plan. this plan was great, drawing on questions from old lsats and the official gmat book. these were excellent resources for practice. i was able to work through about 1/2 of the study plan before my test date.

i reached my goal of >70% on quant and my verbal score went way up. my score went up 4 cumulative points even though i was only able to complete about 1/2 of magoosh's program. i strongly recommend magoosh if they can produce results like this even after someone has used princeton review, kaplan, and official ets guides.

you really get out what you put in. the gre was my first standardized test, so my first attempt was just a practice for pace, content, etc. and if i achieved a score high enough for grad school even better. i knew i had not put in the effort to go through all the questions available here for the first attempt. it really was a wake up call (which i need every once in a while). my second attempt i focused on questions and made sure to pay attention to vocabulary. in the end it paid dividends.

previously, i used a gre study book to prepare for gre. it did help me..well, a little.. when i found magoosh, which was only 2 weeks before my actual gre date, i instantly became addicted to the lessons. i only thought "this is it!! this is what i need!". i love the video lessons! i love their step by step and conceptual explanations.
when i took the practice test, i received a prediction for math: 154-159 and verbal: 151-156. when i saw the actual result after the test, i couldn't believe that the prediction was really accurate!

just a note: those "before scores" reflect how i scored on the first ets practice gre, not on an actual gre.

i hate the gre. i hate the whole idea of the gre. it's a glorified iq test that i believe is completely irrelevant to how smart or capable a person is. it's a total waste of time. standardized testing also happens to be something that i am abominable at by nature. magoosh taught me every math concept that i needed to know (and i was a physics major scoring in the 45 percentile in math!!!), how to go about approaching the verbal questions, and most importantly, repeated magoosh practice literally conditioned me to skip, skip, and skip some more! pacing is what improved my score the most: learning not to be too thorough, learning to leave things behind, and plunge forward. i went from a 305 on the first ets practice test to a 331 on the real deal. that's a 26 point improvement! but it wasn't easy; i wasted about 2 months of my life trying to beat this stupid monster and i took over 15 practice tests (manhattan prep, princeton review, ets, and magoosh). my score did not just jump from a 305 to a 331, it gradually climbed with hard work and lots of wasted hours. it was a bittersweet accomplishment :). magoosh made practicing easier, more accessible, and more human. thank you thank you thank you!

i was amazed by the magoosh help in math section. i did attend the prep course and the studied the book, but my score was still low last year. this year, i only worked with magoosh and even did not open the gre book. thank you!

it was literally awesome!! the explanatory videos (the lessons) are very convenient, the note taking is awesome, and the best of all is the video explanation after each and every question.. this has helped me a lot, i was most concerned with the math, where i got 670 on the old gre, and i guess 162 corresponds to 770, which is a 100 pts increase! which is cool :) thanks guys, your product is really successful, please keep up the good work and looking forward to study anything again using magoosh :)

by providing in-depth videos and many hard math and verbal questions, magoosh helped me more than any books could ever do. there were many similar questions on the exam, which were made much easier as your product provided many shortcuts to the practice problems.

i have been out of college for 7 years. i felt fairly confident with my verbal abilities, but knew i would need some serious help with math. i was always successful in math classes, but mostly because i memorized relevant formulas and "tricks" without understanding concepts or how and when to apply them. i followed the magoosh 90-day math-focused plan diligently (in conjunction with mgre books) and was impressed by the way each concept built on earlier concepts. more importantly, i understood the "why" behind every question and concept. i appreciated the basic, no-nonsense, straightforward approaches.

in regard to verbal, i watched all the videos and completed all the practice problems. it's always seemed to me that some answers on verbal sections feel arbitrary or subjective, or that there's not a formulaic way to attack problems. but, magoosh gave me systematic ways to keep myself focused on finding the right answers, whether through coming up with my own answers, putting reading comprehension sentences into my own words, or filtering through a dense science passage.

i feel that magoosh was more than worth the $99 i paid. there's a reason for all the glowing reviews i found online as i was searching for prep materials. i'm a little sad i won't be spending time with my "tutors" anymore- i really enjoyed my time on the site. i didn't quite hit my target score (hope i didn't let you down :)) but i am very pleased, and confident that the score i got will make me competitive at programs i'm looking at. thanks for such a classy product!

magoosh gre is amazing. i was able to dramatically improve my math score in just two weeks of studying. video lessons and problem solutions are very helpful. also, magoosh is so much cheaper than other products.

magoosh helped me a lot to revise everything quickly. i only had a month for the preparation. i had not done math since high school that is since 17 years. magoosh lectures are great and offer i needed. overall a great product.
