you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

magoosh was truly a life saver! i have historically never been truly comfortable taking standardized tests (i think my first practice test i got a 148-q and 141-v), so it was great having access to the myriad of resources available on the magoosh site. also, i enjoyed the flexibility in using magoosh's resources as well as the recommended texts from manhattan prep, princeton review, barron's, etc., as it built a capacity to understand different approaches to similar questions. ultimately, the difference maker for me was the supplementary reading & vocabulary practice outside of the timed testing that was recommended in magoosh's study plans and blogs, as i used quizlet and smartvocab every day to enhance my vocabulary competence. overall, magoosh's questions tend to be a bit more difficult than those from ets, but it helped having the video tutorials and concept reviews to review difficult concepts. i highly recommend magoosh to any gre test taker that is serious about taking their scores to the next level.

i didn't have a baseline score but the quant sessions helped me tremendously with problem solving.

the video tutorials were extremely helpful and insightful. the blog posts were also very interesting and provided a lot of useful information. i would not have gotten my target score without magoosh.

magoosh helped me work on my timing, and focus my practice on areas where i really needed help.

i've been out of school for 4 years so magoosh was essential to my review. though i've purchased barron's online prep, i concentrated on magoosh as it caters more to my needs. the blogs were also really helpful! more power to magoosh. :) :) :)

being an adult student, it had been well over 15 years that i had even considered grade school math. with only thirty days to prepare, i had little time to refresh my memory. i followed the thirty-day guide for the gre, and i needed a 156 in quantitative to pass. the guide, videos, and practice problems all helped to refresh my memory and prepare me for what was a mentally exhaustive gauntlet of questions. the staff was also amazing and is always available to help you in a prompt and efficient manner. thanks team!

very helpful, especially the reading comprehension techniques--they were wonderful. the videos were excellent for both verbal and math.

before registering with www.catharsisit.com, gre seemed like a puzzle to me, especially the verbal section. the tips and tricks provided in magoosh lectures are awesome - hats off to the creator!!!
the 1100+ questions with video explanation were of great help throughout my gre preparation.

studying with magoosh was great! the first time i took the gre i only studied with a practice book for a couple weeks before the exam. the book was good i thought, but i wasn't motivated to study and seeing everything on paper is definitely limiting since there is no interaction and it's not on a computer. having all the materials that magoosh offers (videos, quizzes, review booklets, etc.) was a great help. i actually enjoyed studying. i think it helps to see someone work through the problems and have that visual input. i found the answers here to be more thorough than i remember them being in the book. plus, watching lesson videos is more fun than reading about the strategies!
i started studying in may and took the test early august. i went on a 5 week vacation in-between so i didn't study consistently throughout the summer. i'm sure if i had, and had made better use of all the practice questions, lessons, blog posts, and advice on reading and studying vocab, i could have done even better than i did. but, i was happy i raised both my verbal and math scores, especially verbal, which went from 147 to 155!

magoosh is basically the best prep material available. when i took the gre the first time i only studied on kaplan, but now i recognize the deficiencies of their product and the powerfulness of magoosh prep. also, there exists a plethora of prep material where publishers claim to be the best in gre prep, but no way they get even close to magoosh resourcefulness, apart from a handful of materials (which magoosh suggests). indeed, i really appreciated how magoosh developers suggest to combine their product with a few other good books that can help students to improve their skills and knowledge (first of all the official guide of course!).
moreover, each time i had to submit a question, a comprehensive answer was e-mailed me in less than 24 hours.
i did not reach my target score in math, but i only blame myself for not having strictly followed magoosh suggestions on the days before test day, thus i went to the ets office pretty much tired and i couldn't reach my potential, and in the second quant section i took too much time to answer all the questions, without having extra-time to have a double-check of what i did.

if i had to retake the gre, for sure i will choose magoosh again.

if it weren't for magoosh's wealth of challenging questions and helpful lessons, i probably would have earned a much lower score.

it helped me get a feel of the actual test conditions. apart from power prep, magoosh is by far the best tool that provides a testing experience as close as possible to the real deal.

magoosh is the best learning tool for the gre! the video lessons are extremely helpful as are the 500+ practice questions. i was able to learn not only how to perform the relevant math operations, but also to do it quickly and use shortcuts when possible. the practice questions are highly similar to the ones on the gre, very much so that i remember just skimming a few of the questions and immediately knowing the answer because i had already seen it several times during my magoosh practice.

for those searching for an effective and affordable program, i highly recommend magoosh! you will not be disappointed. ;)

within a one month period i think it really helped me to improve my performance . it made a big difference . was more helpful than any class that i could've gone to. thanks to you guys on the magoosh team ! :)

more than anything, magoosh focused my studying, which i really needed! the quant videos were tremendously helpful getting me through some hard-to-understand concepts and the practice questions allowed me to literally re-train my brain when it came to tackling verbal questions (come up with my own answer before looking at the options)!

overall, magoosh saved me! the videos were of great help, and the speed at which the staff responded to my questions was wonderful. i needed a 300 or above for my m.s. program, and i was horrified i would get below that. while a 303 is not amazing, i am very happy that i was able to pull it off. i will recommend this product to everyone.

magoosh was simply amazing. i decided on graduate school less than a month ago and needed to take the gre. i came across the online blogs and was impressed enough to buy it. i was mainly worried about all the math i hadn't seen since high school. the lessons provided a great recap of everything. there were ample problems and helpful reviews to each question. building practice tests from both verbal and math aptly enabled me to assess my progress. magoosh questions mirrored the gre and their "hard" and "very hard" math problems were harder than the actual test.likewise, i loved using the practice tools to focus on one section, group together sections or difficulties of my choosing, and review flagged or incorrect questions. in 3 weeks i was able to rock the gre. i felt confident the entire time i was taking the test and knew the reason why. i texted my friends to use it minutes after i saw my score. my score was higher than on the practice tests i took between magoosh and ets power prep, but within the magoosh estimated range for me, illustrating how accurate this test prep is.

it has been more than 22 years since i studied any math, and i never took anything higher than algebra i and basic geometry in high school. i wasn't counting on getting a high math score, so my strategy was to beef up my vocabulary and pray the verbal score would carry me, which it thankfully did. (before signing up for magoosh, i had already been accepted into an ma program, gre scores pending. i just needed to snag a 295 combined to make it official.) magoosh helped me pick up a few new math concepts and strategies, but the exposure to context-based gre vocabulary words helped me the most. repeated exposure to the question/task types before the exam was also invaluable. everything felt very "familiar" on test day.

the timing feature is one of the most useful features of your product. it made me realise where i was falling short in comparison to other test-takers.

also, before using this product, i was quite unclear as to how to approach vocab. but your blog entries and vocab ebook proved to be of great help as it allowed me to learn the words in a contextual way, instead of the torture of cramming them in. because that's how the revised gre tests you, the contextual knowledge of words.

the last time i took the gre was in 1999 and i barely remember taking it. i am returning to school for a career change after 7 years of working. the gre scared me and magoosh removed all the fear. i felt prepared and confident for the exam. my scores fell in the magoosh-predicted range. with two small kids at home, i knew studying was going to be a challenge. the videos, mobile app, and explanations made that easier. explanations were clear and the practice questions were just like the exam.

magoosh is amazing!! i will suggest it to everyone i konw who takes the gre. the website is great, the explanations are clear even for an international student like me.
