you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

my score of 322 was more than what i would have expected, considering that i only had two weeks to prepare. i'm a software engineer with a full time job, taking up a substantial amount of my daily time. if it were not for magoosh's online lessons and questions, i would have never achieved this score in such a short time. i didn't have time to go through any other material, and magoosh's material was all i had for my gre preparation!

also, the flashcards were really helpful and very thoughtfully put together, and the 1000 words given there was all i had prepared for my vocab. in spite of that, i didn't face any major issues regarding vocabulary during the test.

magoosh is an amazing accelerator for those who have very little time to prepare for gre!

fantastic amount of practice questions to do (i didn't even get through them all) - i really appreciated the video explanations for each one. and the lesson videos were a great resource as well - even though i was strong at verbal and could generally figure out the questions on my own, the provided strategies finally proved helpful on test day when i was confronted with sentences that i had much more difficulty with.

i have been out of school for over a decade. the lesson videos were great for re-introducing math material i had forgotten. i also thought the quiz formats were extremely helpful. the setup and online calculator were very similar to the actual gre format, so nothing was a surprise to me on test day. when i got an incorrect answer, the video explanation for how to correctly work out the problem was invaluable.

verbal part is helpful for those excellent explanation videos,
quantitative part is most helpful in fast preparation to let me achieve 170.

i found the quant sections (both videos and practice questions) incredibly helpful. like the other reviewers, i agree that the magoosh math questions are a lot harder than the ones on the actual exam - this is a great thing! i used 3-4 gre prep books the first time i wrote the gre and they turned out to be not that representative of what was actually being tested on the exam. the prep book questions and tests are way too easy, making you think you are well-prepared for the exam. i only used magoosh to prep for my rewrite that was a month later. magoosh practices are much more challenging and when you go write the actual exam, you will know how to tackle both the easy and hard questions.

p.s. - chris' vocab videos are so wonderful to watch! also loved the way he explained the word 'doleful.' :)

i work full-time and have a very busy schedule, so i had no time to sit down and actually study. i only needed to focus on my verbal and i only had 2 weeks to prepare. magoosh allowed me to just immerse myself in constant practice. for these two weeks, i answered only the hard practice questions, which really helped me prepare for the verbal questions on the test.

the videos, especially the math ones, were incredibly helpful. i've always muddled through math in school without really understanding it, but those videos really illuminated the core math concepts for me.

the sheer volume of practice questions available was amazing, and allowed for ample and useful practice. plus the videos explaining how to solve each question made this website much more valuable than any gre book i could have bought.

i cannot say enough about how magoosh helped me prepare for gre, particularly the verbal session. i really thank magoosh for the content and the practice that helped me get a decent score in verbal

magoosh was amazingly helpful. it taught me much better ways to approach the questions, as well as helpful tricks to solve questions in the verbal section that when i didn't know some or most of the word options. the lessons for quantitative section were also really beneficial for a refresher on the concepts behind a question.

magoosh gre product has a comprehensive question bank, covering a wide array of topics, with excellent video explanations that elucidate the approach to these questions. the score projection for both the sections kept me motivated. since i'm planning to pursue ms in petroleum engineering, i focussed more on the quantitative section and i'm happy with the outcome.

magoosh helped so much. i'm not much of a self-starter when it comes to studying and can have a hard time concentrating. having short videos at my fingertips made me able to wrap my brain around my study plan and know i was being thorough. having an instructor explain concepts to me probably saved me dozens of hours of additional work.

the videos are very insightful, especially the verbal ones, where they teach you the manner of thinking in order to solve the questions.

the math exercices cover most of the nuances that seem to exist in the actual questions. the explanations for the answers were always satisfactory as well. i just wish there were more of them.

i also enjoyed the blog and all the test taking tips and book recommendations.

it helped me a lot.. it was my only source of practice besides 3 practice tests from kaplan. all my actual studying and practice was done through magoosh and i really liked the whole setup.. it was easy, well-organised, adaptive to your needs and thoughtfully planned for students. i would highly recommend it to any of my friends in the future

i used other study aids, such as kaplan, and on two previous gre's saw no improvement. considering the cost the other tools were low quality and ineffective. magoosh is far superior and far less expensive. i highly recommend it to anyone seeking an online study aid for the gre.

i would like to thank the whole magoosh team especially rachel, carolyn, lucas, kevin, david, amrita, sharat and of-course chris and mike. the material - questions and video lectures are simply awesome. moreover, the video explanation of the questions is extraordinary. i would recommend everyone to check those even if you get your answers correct. i can't thank enough and whatever marks i lost in quant were because of my silly mistakes and also because i didn't give any complete test. so keep those things in mind and keep magooshing :)

the test completions here are amazing, especially the triple blanks!

i had no problems with the verbal section, but my math was rusty. i would take practice tests, see which questions i missed, then use magoosh to review those concepts. i was especially pleased with the price of magoosh's product.

after taking the gre once, i was furiously hunting for tough math questions. luckily magoosh delivered what i was looking for and probably even more. there are some seriously challenging math questions in the question pool and the video lessons offer some very interesting insights and time saving techniques. furthermore, i was pleasantly surprised to find out that magoosh provides additional resources for those who wish to study even more.

magoosh was amazing. practice books from the major test prep companies weren't really helping me. magoosh let me do the harder questions, made me more confident, and the video explanations were exactly what my attention span needed. i would recommend it to anyone. totally, totally amazing.

i am employed in writing, so my verbal skills were solid to begin with. i hadn't taken this sort of math in over 10 years, and i really needed help. i loved the video lessons. i was able to study intermittently while juggling full-time work to refresh my math skills. i am extremely pleased with the structure and affordability of magoosh! thank you!

on my very first practice test (pre-magoosh), i got a 154 verbal, 147 math. so, obviously, magoosh really helped me pull my scores up. as someone who is extremely right-brained, and rarely has to use math on a daily basis, i essentially had to re-teach myself all of those old middle school/high school math concepts. magoosh was great at making everything understandable, and helping me track my progress. plus, i still can't get over what a great value it is compared to other gre prep companies!
