you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

all the questions gave me loads of practice for maths and verbal, and the (free) flashcards are really helpful! had less than 2 months to prepare so ended up only using magoosh and powerprep. really glad i did all the questions, even though i thought i don't need to do anything for math, i fall into traps with the wording a lot, and make careless mistakes i tend to make, and all that practice helped out a lot. love the explanations for verbal questions, after a while i could sort of hear chris's voice in my head when trying to analyse whether my choice is correct or not. and did i say i love the flashcards?

magoosh tremendously helped me with the video lessons and video explanations for the questions i got wrong. with the lessons as well as the magoosh flash cards i scored significantly higher in the verbal section of the test - i went from the 70th percentile to the 93rd in a little over a month of studying!

omg i can't even begin to say thank you. i didn't understand any of the math concepts and on my first practice exam i got like 19th percentile for math and due to a combination of factors i only had 6 weeks to study while working full time! after 2 run throughs of all the videos on magoosh and hundreds of practice questions i actually felt reasonably in control and confident in the exam. with more time to practice i know magoosh could have helped me get an even better scores but i am just so grateful for all the help it did provide and all definitely be recommending it to my friends.

the vocabulary flash cards were invaluable in preparing for actual words seen on the gre.
the math problems were very similar, if not slightly more difficult, than the real thing. the video explanations were very helpful for understanding math concepts on difficult problems. i felt very prepared to tackle the wide variety of questions on the gre.
magoosh was the only prep tool i used, for exactly one month before my test, and i wouldn't change a thing. i reached my goals in the most efficient, yet comprehensive way possible.

i used magoosh almost exclusively to study math. i really appreciated learning the math concepts through the video lessons and the explanations were much more clear and useful than my print resources (the official ets guide and the princeton review cracking the gre). i really appreciated that you cross-referenced the "related blog posts" with many lessons. i appreciated the quizzes with each section and would often retake quizzes for practice in addition to using practice mode to create quizzes of varying length. i tried to drill problems daily. i appreciated the ability to focus the practice on one topic or many.

magoosh practice questions and lessons were my only prep materials for math and verbal. i am pretty sure i would have scored in the high 160s in math had i followed any of the study schedules and the additional resources suggested by magoosh. on the other hand, as the significant increase in verbal score proves, magoosh (i used quizlet for flashcards) is all you need for verbal.

magoosh helped me practice questions that were very similar to the actual gre exam.i was not taken by surprise by any question in the exam.
it surely helped me improve my verbal score to a great extent.i could have scored better had i completed all the practice questions.
magoosh flash cards for gre are an absolute must !!

before joining magoosh i thought gre verbal was just about words but magoosh helped me to get to know the test better.
i was pretty confident about the maths initially but then i practiced a number of questions and realized that i was making small silly mistakes. magoosh helped me to overcome those.

for my last exam, the practice questions i did on the other gre prep websites are actually easier compared to the actual questions, which made me panic when i saw the first question on test day. magoosh's question bank is harder. i think it is always better to practice with more difficult questions!!

magoosh was an absolute blessing! my preparation before taking the gre the first time was wildly unstructured and i felt lost, not knowing how to incorporate various prep books/flashcards/etc into my prep. not only does magoosh offer scads of practice questions, but each question answered correctly or incorrectly is followed by a video explaining why the answer is what it is...a feature unique to magoosh and not found in other test preparation! the lessons were vast and descriptive and clear in content. i have nothing negative to say about my experience!

magoosh helped me in verbal reasoning in particular. the practice questions are the closest to the real test. the videos's level of explanations are beyond the general strategies in guidance books. especially text completion and se. as a non native speaker, breaking these questions into pieces helped me to understand how to approach them. indeed, i improved my verbal score in 3 points.
also, magoosh offers a huge bank of math questions, in the level of the test and higher. last but not least, since magoosh is an online platform, i could spend my commuting time studying and practicing through the ipad.
i'm so happy i singed up to magoosh and i'd definitely recommend it to my friends!

with magoosh it was easy to get a lot of practice and even easier to focus on concepts or problem types with which i was having difficulty. i particularly appreciated the detailed explanations of each problem and the links to related lessons. plus, the magoosh math problems were harder than the problems in the powerprep tests and those i saw on test day. it was nice to know i was seeing the hardest problems i could expect from the test.

magoosh was awesome - i could keep drilling my weak areas until i was getting things right. the blog posts were really useful. i did not touch any other book/guide (which is probably not recommended), since i had very little time to prepare, and magoosh was really useful in focusing and refining my practice. i could have done better in math if i put some more time in, but i'm ok with my scores. also best bang for your buck out there.

i loved the product! the engaging videos provided a unique and easy departure point for reviewing material covered in the gre. but what helped me most was the detailed and intensive one-month study plan i followed, a daily guide that kept me on track and gave me clear goals!

magoosh was invaluable. it was absolutely critical to ace'ing the math section. i only used magoosh for a month (exclusively) between my first and second test and improved math by 11 points. thank you so much for this phenomenal resource. seriously.

thank you, magoosh! i've struggled with math for a long time, but you guys made things easy to understand. i especially liked the strategy approaches you taught. when i had serious doubts about how to answer a question on the test, i felt like i was equipped to guess smarter. anyway, my jaw dropped when i saw my score--and how much i had improved since my first practice test! thanks again.

best resource out there. had 1 month to study and only had 1 shot, did not use any material except magoosh. kudos to the team for coming up with such a comprehensive and easy to use product.

helped cover a wide range of questions and some very difficult problems which were able to have me retain my composure as some difficult problems did creep in the main exam. your gre wordlist was a good set of compiled important words. lessons were definitely good. support was good and immediately responsive. i would also say that it is very important to cool down or relax a day or two before the exam. something which i didn't do and that's why i really got unnerved in the beginning before being okay some sets later!

i work full-time as a lobbyist so i needed a test prep system that was flexible but thorough. magoosh definitely fit the bill--i was able to target my weaknesses and tailor the program to my needs. the flashcards were great too! i was able to open them on my ipad and flip through whenever i was lounging on the couch or on the metro.

the questions on magoosh are very good. many of them are harder than the real test. this large pool of high-quality practice questions (each with a video explanation) is alone worth the price.
i prepped for about a month during my final year of university and magoosh is great for practicing in odd bits of free time that crop up during the day.

i find the study plans particularly helpful. the videos and exercises were also great and familiarized me with the tasks i encountered in the actual exam. apart from getting good scores, i also improved my english skills significantly following the advice that i should read, listen and write as much as possible instead of cramming with wordlists.

i don't have words to express my thanks to magoosh. from the video lessons to the vocabulary app, everything helped me a lot. i got prompt support, whenever i was stymied. i was at 50 percentile in verbal just a month before the test, with magoosh's support i could cross 85 percentile.

i loved the video explanations and the abundance of questions of varying difficulty available on magoosh. magoosh was definitely effective in getting me comfortable with the test format and the question types.

i prepped over 3 weeks from knowing nothing about gre to test-ready. the in-question timing by magoosh helped me improve my pacing so time was not a problem when i took the gre.

magoosh should keep up the clinical approach to gre prep. at the end of the day, the best prep for gre is actually doing gre questions. practice does make perfect.

magoosh proved incredibly useful for a rushed preparation of the gre (i studied for about 3 weeks in total, the last 2 making intense use of magoosh' resources and practice tests). the systematic coverage of topics and strategies in lessons helped me make sure i was studying everything i should, and the possibility of doing mock tests every few days was perfect for practicing and for getting used to the timing and the environment of the actual gre.
