you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

the main math man really made learning efficient and clear. dude is an affable guru, which made practicing enjoyable. the timed practice environment was similar enough to make the real test familiar.

magoosh definitely helped me to be better prepared for the test. the video tutorials were very useful and all the insight into how the test works overall (as opposed to just what's on it) helped me feel prepared and calm on test day.

the video lessons were great - they really walked me through each problem and were a great help especially with the harder level verbal questions. i wish i had more time to review each question and go over the vocabulary flashcards more thoroughly. magoosh really helped me enjoy the learning process, so much that even though my gres are over, i still come back to brush up on my vocab.

magoosh was fantastic! the videos, quizzes and full-length tests along with vocab wednesdays and manhattan prep (recommended by magoosh) were all i need to make it to a respectable score!

although i was good at maths, i was very weak in the verbal section (my practice scores used to be in the upper 140s). i found magoosh's practice question very close to that of gre. no matter how subtle, all of its verbal questions have a very logical and convincing answers, just like in the gre. the video explanations are very helpful and all of these helped me improve my verbal. the math practice questions too helped me polish my mathematics. i loved the video lessons; both the lessons on math and verbal are very helpful. the magoosh gre blog is also great.

in short: get magoosh right now and forget about any other material there is! i only used magoosh as i only had three weeks to prepare the gre and no time to go through other material. while i was very confident with regards to the language part, the math part freaked me out. after all, i hadn't used my high school math knowledge for 15 yrs... i practiced with magoosh every day, watched all videos, and improved from an initial 145 to a 161 - better than my language score, amazing! i also used their language questions which gave me confidence as i knew what would expect me.

verbal had been always my weakness, but with the synergy of the strategies-the perfect ones and the practice questions-that clearly match up that of the test, immensely helped me reach my target score. and being an engineer, quant section was my cup of tea but still needed a brush up with the basics required for the test and the videoes offered did the work.
and not to forget the other resources i used while preparing - the flashcard app, vocab ebook, math formula ebook, the blog articles, vocab wednesday, the study plans - a real compehensive source for the gre test preparation.

it introduced me to new concepts in math and new ways of calculating problems (i especially liked the something method). but most of all, it offered me a plethora of practice problems to allow me to gain more confidence in areas that were traditionally problematic (exponents and word problems in quant or reading comprehension in verbal) and then explained the answers. i found the user interface easy to use and everyone was very pleasant and responsive to my emails.

and, best of all, even though i didn't have access to any of the recommended materials, it still boosted my score seven points!

magoosh's math preparatory materials were extremely helpful. i flagged several videos that gave good overviews of complicated problem types, and made sure to review those multiple times. i especially appreciated that every problem had both a text and a video explanation - the text explanation was often sufficient if i missed a question, but the video gave a more thorough explanation if necessary. most useful was that every question linked back to the videos that taught that principle, so if i struggled with something i could review immediately.

the gre felt so much easier the 2nd time around! though some of this was certainly luck or general preparation, i think i certainly benefited from learning to handle much harder questions on magoosh.

magoosh familiarized me with the specific math techniques that enabled a better, faster approach on many questions. thanks to the lessons and practice, many math problems that had at first befuddled me became a piece of cake. also, the videos on essay writing were a huge help.

i cannot thank you enough magoosh! english is my second language and i can't describe how nervous i was prior to taking the gre. i know my score is not that awesome but it was a huge accomplishment on my part :). my verbal score was embarrassing when i started studying and look at how much i had improved! i can't believe i could cross that 155 mark. thanks again for all the help! i am extremely satisfied with the product!

the first time i took the gre i used kaplan, barron and the ets; and did not do well. this second time i only used magoosh for one month and it helped improved my score by 13 points total. my favorite features are the following: doing practice questions by difficulty, videos explaining the answer to practice questions and the flashcards for vocab. highly recommend it!

when i started my gre prep, there was at least a tinge of rust about me. the last time i'd studied any form of math? 8 years ago. the last time i had written an essay? 3 years ago. not knowing where to start, i availed myself completely to the magoosh system, using magoosh material almost exclusively for my gre prep. that said, i can't honestly compare magoosh to other materials. neither do i have a previous gre score to quantify my improvement. what i can say is that magoosh contributed immensely to the strength of my score, in both the quant and verbal sections.

by far the best thing about magoosh is the practice questions. approachable and customizable, the practice interface allowed me to immediately simulate the test experience, tackling specific difficulty levels, question types, and practice lengths. this is bolstered by the fact that each question has a detailed explanation of the correct answer and relevant strategies. also, more importantly, the pool of questions was deep, diverse and challenging. this allowed me to immediately recognize areas of strength and weakness and focus my study time. i was particularly impressed with the pool of verbal questions, which forced me to master the competencies critical to test performance. come fatal test day, i felt very comfortable and confident with everything the verbal sections threw at me.

that's not to say magoosh didn't significantly improve my quant skills as well. remembering very little from my wayward middle/high school days, i went through every single math video to try and bring me up to speed. this brought me from not even knowing how to solve a huge chunk of questions to feeling confident i could solve all of them, given enough time. i wish i had spent more time practicing timed math tests, as efficiency was the main obstacle between me and a stronger math score.

all in all, i'm very grateful for magoosh's help. all the services are rounded out with a responsive and supportive team who facilitated a really positive experience. because of them, much to my surprise, i actually enjoyed preparing for the gre.

magoosh was really helpful. hundreds of questions to practice with, clear instructions and video lessons, and more importantly it provides a plan and plenty of motivation. all in all, a great experience! a must have for every gre taker!

magoosh is a great study tool for the gre. the video lessons are very insightful, and the questions are very similar to the actual questions that appear on test day. in addition, the number of questions available (more than 1000) together with the others provided by the recommended alternative sources gave me enough practice to be more confident and better prepared for the test.

the verbal section was where i felt that magoosh help me the most - it was also where i had the most room to improve. magoosh taught me the best way to attack text completion and sentence equivalence question, by making me be aware of the mindset of the test makers.

even though i have started using magoosh with a math score of already 167, i also felt that i was better prepared for this section too. magoosh helped me to save a lot of time in certain types of exercises where i had the most difficulties. for example, the ones where prime factorization is a decisive step. however, i was aiming for the perfect 170 score in this section, which sadly i didn't achieve.

i cannot say enough good things about magoosh. i took the gre in september of 2013 and was happy with my score, but i knew i could do better. i oversee a phd application mentoring program for a top-tier university and this is truly the best online preparation service i have ever encountered. from the comprehensive lessons to the video explanations of answers to the responsive staff, you will not find a better or more economical option. i watched all of the videos and completed all of the lessons, which took a lot of work on my end, but magoosh breaks lessons down into simply, easily comprehensible steps. the repeated practice on vocabulary made a huge difference in my score. i could not be happier with the results! in a little less than two months, my score went up 11 points. magoosh made all the difference for me.

as a student over 1 year out of college, i was looking for a test prep which i could relate to. magoosh did a great job of explaining tricky concepts and the practice problems will ensure your success on test day.

magoosh helped me with greasing the gears in my brain at first. i am an engineering graduate and although i am good with maths(my score may not reflect that!), as it has been almost 5 years since i last solved even an algebra equation, i definitely had to re-learn lot of basics in addition to learning "how to apply".

magoosh content is good in that it focuses on the complexities rather than the basics - just what i needed. learning mere formulae will get one nowhere in the gre. you need to scrutinize the problem and know when to apply what. magoosh taught me how to break-up a problem.

what i really loved about magoosh is the question bank. you get tremendous amount of practice through challenging problems and if you do it diligently and analyze your mistakes, then there is no reason why you cannot score a perfect 170 even! it seems "gettable" when you see the questions on test day (unless your major foe is silly mistakes just like mine).

overall, i am really happy i signed up for magoosh!

albeit generally reticent in lauding others' achievements, you guys are simply begging for me lavishly pouring ebullient eulogies by the sheer professionalism emanating from every inkling of your immanently outstanding website!
simply put, magoosh is the greatest repository of gre-level questions on the internet, period. not only is the content at magoosh extremely helpful in terms of its scope and depth, it also easily and by far outperforms all its competitors on the market. just an instance of how good magoosh actually is: i found it to be far more instructive than even the ets 'bible' containing actual gre material. some of the questions on magoosh will be the hardest ones you will encounter, easily more difficult than all the other preps (and, believe me, i've actually used them all) and even the ones on the actual test itself.
so, although i could essentially revel in profuse verbosity, suffice it to say that you need no more and no less than to master the material on this site to achieve the score you need! had i had ample time to prepare with magoosh (in, say, 3 months instead of 2), i would have probably achieved a perfect score on the gre. really, the content is so outstanding that i would say that virtually every gre applicant owes it to themselves (provided that they have the funds) to purchase a magoosh account.
and even though i might be accused of partisanship, let me exonerate myself by asserting the protruding truism pervading my entire comment: magoosh certainly makes your dreams come true.

verbal helped me a lot. every question has a short video instruction, which helps explaining the strategy, the logic and difficult words.

magoosh's lessons retaught me concepts i had forgotten since high school, showed my improvement over time, provided explanations for wrong answers, and allowed me to customize my practice. it has a lot of very useful resources and information. it was definitely worth the price.

magoosh is so fantastic! i always found english so tricky, the passages long and arcane.
magoosh video answers, plus the extremely prompt, patient responses from all you guys whenever i sent any queries through the help tab was unbelievable! such a support during my really stressful times..
