i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

magoosh was my primary test prep material. i used it to the maximum extent possible. the videos for math and verbal explained every single concept that was tested by ets. the quality and standard of the practice questions in magoosh were literally identical to what i saw on the actual gre. in fact magoosh had some even tougher questions which prepared me to face the hardest possible questions in the actual test. i would recommend magoosh for gre prep to any student aiming to score high marks on the gre.

magoosh helped me improve my time with practice problems and in understanding what i should be focusing on. i found the math practice problems and timed quizzes very helpful in preparing me for time management. the videos are a great help too.

this prep program was invaluable. as a mid-career professional returning to school for a doctorate, i'd forgotten much of the math i learned as an undergrad. this program gave me the review needed, in a format that worked with my schedule.

english is not my native language, and because of that i faced a great deal of difficulty when preparing for the verbal reasoning portion of the gre. as a visual learner, magoosh video lessons and explanations were crucial in helping me prepare for the exam and hone my skills. with only a month to prepare, i don’t know where i would have been without magoosh!

the practice test--with accompanying videos for the questions i got wrong--was the most helpful. practice questions in general were great to prepare mentally for what the test would be like. i also appreciated the vocab flashcard app.

magoosh helped me recognized common themes and patterns in the math section which saved time so i could get through the problems.

magoosh helped me a good bit with both sentence equivalence and text completion questions. the vocabulary app was also a great plus as well as the lessons on difficult texts (which i find particularly tiring). in terms of math, magoosh was a good platform for learning new or long forgotten techniques and formulae (prime factorization and remainders especially). i stayed clear of the math videos though, mainly focusing on harder math questions.

your math lessons are superb. great explanations and examples that really stuck in my head come test time- even though i only crammed for 3 weeks. highly recommended!

it provided me with the tools to find my areas of weakness and strength and focus my time and energy in the right places. it also made me so comfortable with the question types and style of the test that i felt at ease and relaxed during test time. the importance of which can't be overstated!

i'm a crammer, so i ended up going through all the practice questions (about 1000!) in about two weeks. it was so challenging, that when it came time to take my actual gre, it kind of felt like a cakewalk. i ended up scoring almost 10 points higher than i even predicted!

magoosh was the sole reason i got good scores on the gre. i had never taken it and had little time to prepare (about a month), but magoosh was the perfect way to dust off my knowledge and get an idea on what to expect from the test. i cannot recommend it enough (and already did to a few friends).

i used the magoosh vocab app on my phone to study on the metro commuting to and from work.

magoosh encouraged me to read outside of normal gre studying. i tried to read about 5 hours a week from different online sources.

the magoosh videos related to test strategies were very helpful to me and ultimately what allowed me to make more accurate guesses on the exam.

i think the best way to prepare for standardized exams is to expose yourself to as many of the problems (or at least, the types of problems) you will face come test day. so beyond the incredibly thorough and informative videos, the greatest benefit of magoosh was the seemingly endless supply of realistic practice questions.

without the magoosh math lessons, i would have been completely lost. i watched every lesson and did hundreds of practice problems, and went into the test feeling confident that i could get at least a decent score. i wanted a 160, and got a 163q, which was a happy surprise.

i found the verbal lessons and practice useful for familiarizing myself with the questions types. i wasn't worried about getting a good verbal score, though i didn't expect to get a 170v!

the magoosh practice tests were excellent simulations of the real test. i think if anyone does all the lessons and most or all of the practice questions, learning from their mistakes as they go, they can't help but do well on the gre. magoosh's predicted scores were lower than my actual scores, by the way.

i practiced math and verbal exercises extensively. i followed some of the guidelines of the 90 day study plan for advanced students. lessons in math helped me refresh my algebra and geometry skills.

magoosh is totally worth it ! i first practiced with books (princeton, and the official one), but this website is the best way to achieve a great score ! with only ten days left, i did all the math questions and it helped a lot.
the verbal videos are outstanding and they explain everything in a way to make you think the right way on your test day. even though i hadn't sufficient time to practice with the profusion of verbal questions, the videos truly enlightened me.

the videos were great when i needed more explanation on topics i was reviewing through practice problems. also really enjoyed the large number of questions to work on.

i consider myself pretty proficient in math and decent in english but the website really puts it in the best possible context to ace the exam, it's crazy. when i first took the gre i found the questions very bizarre and didn't remember many of the subjects or any of the 'short cuts' needed to succeed on the exam. the way subjects are taught on the website via videos, typed explanations and more (sometimes even with a comic twist) really present the ideal way for me to learn.
furthermore the swift response to any question i had or the fountain of questions available made me come back to the gre and even found it easy!

it really helped me anticipate the types of questions and showed me how to analyze them. also it provided a very thorough overview of math concepts with plenty of practice and advice.

i was extremely lucky to find a service as great as magoosh is; given my remote location in a country outside of the united states, it was quite difficult to find quality instruction for the gre. magoosh met and surpassed my expectations as a resource. i loved how its questions are adaptive, and appreciated the rigour that rivaled the problems on the actual test. the timer at the top edge of the screen was also a very helpful feature; it gives an authentic feel for how test takers should go about pacing themselves. the in-depth analysis of questions that i had completed in the past (found in the "review" section) allowed me to focus on my trouble areas with greater efficiency and accuracy. i would like to give a shout out to the wonderful people at magoosh. please continue the good work!

magoosh helped me tremendously - especially with the math, much of which i had to learn for the first time. but thanks to the thoroughness of the lessons and reviews, i did so much better than i would have otherwise, and a lot more than the average 5-ish point improvement that typical magoosh users get.
