you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

magoosh got me back on track when i started getting complacent before the exam. the video lessons were good but what really takes the cake is the practice problem set. they are so close to the problems i've seen in the exam. in just 15 days, magoosh has improved my score. i'm glad i found magoosh :)

i really enjoyed a lot of aspects of the magoosh experience--particularly the dashboard statistics, the review feature, the combination of video lessons with practice problems, and (especially!) the mobile math and vocab apps. i also really liked the new vocab quiz app. i used all 3 apps a lot, and i think they helped both with basic math skills and with expanding my gre vocab.

i really appreciated being able to follow a study guide (i used the math-focused guide). having an outline of what do to helped eliminate some anxiety about preparing to study and let me just focus on studying. the video lessons were also helpful. sometimes just hearing things out loud helps them click!

magoosh was by far the most helpful resource, and also the cheapest that i used in my studying. i was very scared in the beginning because i knew that my vocabulary wasn't that strong. but as you can see with my score that proved to be my strongest area. magoosh is constantly providing different mechanisms to study. the gre vocabulary builder was very crucial in the last two weeks of studying before the test. the practice questions proved to be more challenging than the actual gre. on test day, i was more than prepared for the questions i received.

magoosh provided me with an arsenal of hard questions which kept me from growing over confident. chris' approach to solving reading comprehension questions was the highlight for me.

the video lessons, especially the ones on verbal and analytic writing were excellent.
the practice system with videos on how to solve each problem is great.
as a current undergrad in computer science with an interest in web development, i really appreciate magoosh's tech team for making a well designed and easy to use website.

it over-prepared me, which anybody who's ever successfully done anything knows means it prepared me just enough.

i was weak at verbal part. although i couldn't get to manage a good score in the same but if hadn't used magoosh, i wouldn't been at even this level. your explanation service is really fast and awesome especially mr. jonathan elaborates nicely.

excellent study material for the verbal section. the verbal lessons were extremely helpful both in learning new words and the answering strategies. vocabulary quiz was the best.

i subscribed to the one month gre plan. magoosh did exactly what i needed it to do viz. help me gain self confidence. the study material is more than sufficient and your explanation videos are extremely helpful. people at magoosh are always approachable. two weeks into the course kevin reminded me that it would be a good time to take a practice test. a day before the actual test rachel sent an email listing the do's and don'ts. these small gestures set you apart from the rest. it shows that you care about your performance as much as i do. my only regret would be that i did not join magoosh earlier.

magoosh helped me in three main ways. first, it gave me a very good grasp of the concepts that would be on the test and strategies for attacking problems. second, it provided an amazing number of practice questions, and incredibly, explanations of each of those questions. finally, the ability to see the areas where i was weakest help me target my studying so that i could focus on mastering topics i was struggling with.

having referenced a variety of sources to study for the gre, magoosh comes the closest in recreating ets standards- especially in the verbal section.

magoosh has a really fun and easy user interface. i absolutely adore its android app!

every question has its own detailed solution- in text and video format! magoosh is a must-have for all gre aspirants, and its premium account is worth every penny.

magoosh was an incredibly crucial part of my prep. apart from the official guide and some other wordlists, magoosh was the only other weapon i had. the 'very hard' question types in maths taught me fairly well to look out for traps in the question like checking for zeros, negative signs, etc. the verbal questions were also quite helpful in a similar fashion, conditioning my mind to look for clues in the question itself, which is immensely critical. the blog posts and video transcripts are great too. the blog posts are insightful, and full of tips and tricks. i got to know about the transcripts much later, but they can help you skim through the video efficiently.

i had read some testimonies by former students of magoosh before buying this plan, in which one of their students had stated 'magoosh is the only reason that i didn't lose my sanity!'

so true was that!!
magoosh helped me attack problems in a very methodical way. the strategies and explanations given were so awesome!
and not to forget the excellent support by their team for solving my doubts. the magoosh team used to reply within twenty-four hours, and that too with a detailed analysis and solution to my problem.

i must also mention that the practice problems provided by magoosh were closest to the questions that i found in my actual gre. rather i found the actual gre to be a bit simpler than the practice sums provided by magoosh :p their score prediction in verbal (155 to 160) was very accurate for me.
i owe it big time to magoosh for my score in gre.

magoosh gave structure to my studying with the study plans, the math video lessons were very helpful, and i really liked the option of timing my practice questions.

magoosh helped me recover things that i had forgotten (especially math properties!) and hone the skills that i already possessed, and allowed me to achieve a score i didn't think was possible!

most of the math tested on the gre was stuff i hadn't done since high school. the magoosh videos were thorough and easy to follow; they helped rekindle my math skills that had been dormant for so long. the most help part of all, though, is the video explanations for each practice question. plus, the price is right: magoosh is the least expensive gre prep tool with videos that i've found. nevertheless, the videos are high-quality.

the monthly plan was really well structured and was do-able even with a day job. found the video, flashcards and quiz content extremely resourceful. quite liked the verbal passages, which were so interesting to read by themselves! the regular mails also served as good check points.

the videos and flashcards were extremely helpful, and so were the explanations. i liked how friendly the people were, and that we could take practice tests that were much more difficult than the actual gre. i haven't taken a math course in over three years, and i was surprised that i could do as well as i did.

i took every single practice question for verbal and quantitative, which helped me experience all types and versions of questions.

reading so many passages helped me get used to the kinds of questions i'd be asked for the verbal sections, and although my score for verbal tended to be high (i scored a 164 last year, and 164 and 166 on ets practice tests), i needed more exposure to reading comprehension questions, since the very hard ones are very tricky. i also watched several videos (about specific questions, and tactics in general), which made a huge difference, since i grew accustomed to question types and passage types.

i also benefited immensely from the vocabulary cards - i went through all of them, and "mastered" all of the words - although i still would miss a percentage of them now, i knew them at one point, and being exposed to all of those new words enabled me to recognize words i'd seen before - familiarity is key for gre vocabulary, even if one doesn't remember the definition.

the quantitative section from magoosh was a major help - although i was really hoping to make the 160 mark, a 159 is right where i need to be, and i'm happy with that. i actually scored a 152 last year, so a 159 is a massive improvement. i benefited from repeated exposure to all types of questions, but moreso, i really needed the video explanations for questions i missed or didn't understand. thank you so much for taking the time to explain every single question - that made the difference for me. it's one thing to do a question type over and over, it's another thing entirely to actually learn from it. i also really, really, really needed the time estimates, because i was running out of time on my two previous attempts at the gre, and i really needed time management help! that was one of the main factors of my decision to subscribe to magoosh.

i also submitted two questions about math concepts i was unsure about, and it was a huge relief to know that i could get help and i wasn't alone (i can't just go ask my 12th grade calculus teacher, or undergrad professors for help). thank you to jonathan and chris for helping me understand concepts that i was confused about.

as a non-english speaker, i feel the verbal practice in magoosh is really helpful.

magoosh gave me more confidence going into my exam because it accurately predicted the approximate range my score would be in, continually adapting as i completed more practice questions. the lesson videos were clear and helpful. most valuable of all was the study schedule that magoosh created specifically for people who require more help in math than in other areas, as i did. following the schedule kept me accountable to my goal and motivated me. i received an adequate score for my program of interest on my first exam - no rewrites necessary! thanks to all the staff at magoosh! i appreciate your support!

before buying magoosh's subscription , i had solved almost every book for gre maths and verbal but i was still not getting more than 310-315 in mock tests . magoosh really helped me understand the basic concepts and silly mistakes i had been making in maths . and english is not my native language so understandably i was not doing so good in verbal section but magoosh flashcards + verbal problems really helped me get an above average score in verbal .
