you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

the team at magoosh is really caring and always willing to help, i could ask the most basic doubts and have them cleared in very less period of time.

also practicing the questions really helped, the blog is wonderful and the vocab words app is just amazing.

magoosh was extremely helpful for my gre preparation. the video lessons in both verbal and quant sections are really good. the blogs and flashcards are awesome too. i don't think that i could have scored over 320 without magoosh, that too when i only had two months to study. keep it up! :)

i would have been completely useless on the math portion without watching and taking careful notes during all those videos. the math-focused study plan was great.

it was great. i did a lot of practice on magoosh, which raised my cumulative score by 17 points.

magoosh was very helpful in giving me a refresher on all of the math topics that i had learned years ago. in addition, the practice questions were slightly more difficult than the real gre, which made me feel adequately prepared. i did not study much for the writing and verbal, but i did watch the videos to gain an understanding of the test formatting.

there is a lot of gre content out there. but the problem is a, sizable proportion of this content is either too easy or too hard and out of scope for the gre. when you stumble upon such questions you lose confidence on the content and start doubting whether or not your effort is in the right direction. magoosh alienated those trust issues to begin with and kept up it's promise of quality at various stages.
not to mention it is economical. many local classroom coaching is not only more expensive but also probably way less effective. magoosh is an example for others to emulate when it comes to online learning. the staff in their elucidation of concepts and clearing of doubts/clarifications ensure that the learning loop is complete.

magoosh made gre prep fun-highly recommended

magoosh was tremendously helpful. the vocabulary flash card app was a lifesaver, and actually rather fun! it allowed me to practice vocabulary while riding public transportation and while "working" at my day job. i also benefited from the text and video explanations that immediately followed a practice problem. the immediate feedback gave me the tools to continuously improve with each question. the score estimator boosted my confidence and encouraged me to work harder until i reached my goal. i particularly appreciated the nuanced search parameters in the review section, which enabled me to easily spot patterns and target my problem areas. overall, the magoosh website was so streamlined that studying for the gre felt like a challenging game rather than torturous work.

magoosh video lectures were outstanding. as i am an engineering student so i was pretty confident about my math skills. but when i started magoosh math lectures, i learned many new tricks which helped me to solve questions in optimal time. for verbal part magoosh flashcards did the trick for me. magoosh verbal practice questions were too difficult than actual gre verbal questions. so i would recommend magoosh to everyone who is targeting 330+ score in gre.

magoosh's test questions were very similar to the actual gre , which helped me getting accustomed to the test. i bought the magoosh premium 1 month prior to the test and solved all questions and i believe that has helped me tremendously in achieving my goal. my actual target was 320, which i surpassed.
the videos, questions and vocabulary flashcards were extremely helpful. the questions that i saw on the actual test were very similar to many of the practice questions. verbal was actually a bit easier, math questions were at the same level as the test bank i think.
i highly recommend magoosh to anyone who is preparing for the gre. if possible , go through the questions twice. cheers!

get accustomed to the test. improved on the verbal section expecially text completion and vocabulary.

magoosh's videos were extremely effective in targeting all the areas that were confusing and particularly difficult to understand, both for the verbal and the math sections. i felt like i had a personal tutor by watching those videos. the timing function was also a great help - when i took the gre for the first time, i could never manage my time in a way that enabled me to finish the questions in a calm pace. with lots of practice using magoosh's database of questions and the timing function, my speed increased so dramatically that i had time left for both sections and i could check my answers. lastly, magoosh tutors always responded very quickly (within 1 or 2 days) and gave very detailed explanations.

magoosh had everything i could possibly need to feel prepared for the exam. i made a somewhat poor decision in deciding to take the gre so late, so i was really concerned that i wouldn't do well and would not have time to take the test again to improve my score. thanks to magoosh, my first test scores were the only ones i needed!

magoosh really helped me in understanding the gre pattern very well which made it very easy for me to get a perfect score in math section. i can proudly say that apart from magoosh i have not referred any other materials for my gre preparation.

i would like to thank each and everyone at magoosh for helping me achieve a good score in gre. initially i could score only 150-ish in the verbal section. but after becoming a premium member, my verbal score started climbing up gradually. if it wasn't for magoosh, i would have never got a score of 335.
also, chris lele is an amazing tutor. his video lessons are just fantabulous! he explains stuff clearly without any ambiguity. if i get into an university in california, i would sure like to meet up with you guys and thank you personally!

the videos were really excellent. learned some good strategies of how to attack the questions.

i am not a native english speaker, so when i first saw the verbal section of the gre, i was petrified. in the first mock test i took i missed half of the text completion questions, getting only the score of 152. i didn't even think it was possible for me to get something above 160. yet, after learning strategies from magoosh videos and studying vocabulary with magoosh flashcards, i got significantly better. in fact, the verbal score estimation of magoosh was 157 - 162. i still cannot understand how my actual result, 166, happened to be 2.6 standard deviations above the prediction. yet, one thing is certain: such an improvement in my verbal score -- by 14 points (16 points including math) -- could not have happened without magoosh. so, thank you very much.

first of all a big thanks to chris lele, who made verbal section palatable to me (not a big fan of the jargon words and the intricate sentences which i have come across in all my life). i guess no one else who have made me like the verbal section like you did, and you rock!!

the math section was what i was concentrating (applying for engineering) on, manhattan gre series book and the magoosh videos, is all you need to put you in the driver's seat, solving the 500+ problems in magoosh was very very helpful, a few tricks are easy in manhattan and the rest on magoosh ( this highly depends on an individual), and finally thanks to brent hanneson for all the videos on math section.. :)

magoosh really helped me buckle down and study for the math. my score was still a bit lower than i was hoping for, but i was only able to study one day a week for about two months.

also, the vocabulary flashcards app was great. i encountered only one word on the test that i didn't know (and i'm pretty sure it wasn't in any of the decks), but because of the skills i learned in the verbal practice on magoosh, i still got that question right!

when i first started studying for the gre, i had no idea where to start. magoosh's structured study plan was exactly what i needed! i also had to re-learn a lot of math concepts, so the lesson videos were a great asset. between the vocabulary flashcards, over 1,000 practice questions, the blog full of tips, and a specific statistical breakdown of your progress, i'd say that magoosh is definitely worth every penny.

magoosh helped immensely! the videos and flash cards deserve special mention, not to mention the practice tests that kept me on my toes consistently. the huge leap in scores would have been highly unlikely sans magoosh, given my erratic study schedule and fleeting concentration! all in all, got my money's worth!

i decided to use magoosh primarily for help boosting my quantitative score. as a computer science student, it very clearly needed the most work.

when i initially took the gre, i imagined that the quantitative section was designed to test some innate mathematical ability, and being "good at math" would be sufficient for a good score.

after watching the magoosh videos, i came to understand that the quantitative gre only draws from a particular bag of uncommon math tricks (or tools), and that mastery of the test is in knowing which tools to use for any given problem. through the videos and follow-up quizzes i was able to learn the tools, and using custom practice sessions on the site i developed the intuition to know when to apply them.

magoosh was extremely helpful!!!! the detailed videos and written answers provided for every question was the most useful feature of the site. unlike the ets book, you were able to learn from your answers by seeing exactly why you got a question wrong. the vocabulary flashcards were also very useful. magoosh was able to successfully predict my verbal and math scores. overall, i thought magoosh was very helpful and i suggest it to anyone who is looking to study on their own.
