you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

videos, exercises (specially math) and video explanations for exercises

the videos were invaluable for allowing me to review and learn new quant skills. the number and variety of questions for both sections helped me create and stick to a solid schedule. i'll be using the same practice techniques next semester when i rewrite it (to get closer to perfect!).

lessons! both the math and verbal teachers are excellent. :d and also the exercises...but i realy didn't have enough time to use them as i would have liked.

to practice with exercises similar to the real test. the explanations of the exercises are really good, and the staff want to help you.

the questions were very similar to the real thing--far more than anything i've seen put out by other test prep companies. combine that with the huge volume of questions available, and you have an invaluable source of test prep material.

when i get my score report back i will want a shirt!

as you can see from my previous score, as a non-native speaker of english, i needed help especially for the verbal section. i think i watched all lessons in the verbal part, solved most of the questions (and as i solved them, made sure to learn the unknown words.) i also watched all vocabulary wednesday's of chris on youtube. the day before the test, i could not recall all words i attempted to learn, but most of them (70-80 %). plus, i improved a lot in terms of the method of solving the questions by listening to lessons and question explanations, when not to look at answer choices, avoiding traps, and many else. i am especially thankful to chris, his voice is still echoing in my head :)

ok, it's a bit weird that i did not use magoosh for the part i was most successful at. but honestly, because of the turkish math. education system, i could already confidently solve the majority of the questions. in the previous test, i didn't prepare at all and scored 166. this time, i occasionally took some practice questions from magoosh to get a bit quicker and to get used to the math. terminology in english, because i know them better in turkish. then it was easy for me.

thanks magoosh team for everything! i am really content with my score, and now i have to focus on other parts of my grad application.

magoosh helped me reach my goal of improving my math score by 5 points. unlike other gre prep approaches that i've used, magoosh used a teaching style that helps you learn actual math skills and understand the math behind the questions. other prep courses just teach you little "tricks" that don't really allow you to master the material fully, which of course is what the gre actually tests. so not only do i feel good about my gre score, i feel like i'm actually better at math!

magoosh has really responsive consumer support, the tutorial and especially the video analysis of questions are, without doubt, the best on the market.

the tutorials are also very clear and concise.

the videos played to my strengths as an audio-visual learner and the text explanations filled in any gaps. the real world simulation was crucial to my success.

magoosh provided me with a wide range of practice problems to get me ready for test day. the videos for each question were particularly helpful in breaking down the problems and making them manageable. i was never strong in math testing, but magoosh put a little voice in my head that made me stop and say, "now, let's think about this" for each problem. i think that this helped me immensely to stay calm during the test.

magoosh gave me an entirely new way of approaching the questions. chris' video lessons were fantastic and gave me some great strategies to use on the verbal reasoning section. the flash card app was also very convenient and helped me improve my vocab immensely. the score increase i saw was beyond my expectations. thanks!

the videos were incredibly helpful catching me up on all the math i forgot in the past ten years! they also gave me amazing time saving tips and tricks for the different sections and question types which helped keep me focused on test day. i felt very prepared, not only with the knowledge i needed to answer the test questions, but also with the test format.

follow the study plan and with helpful tips to both quant and verbal question. i didn't have any friend that have done the test before, so it was really useful to get acquantice with the question format, and be able to do small batches of question everyday (after a full-time job and extra activities) was the right choice. the flashcards app is another great addition, as it allowed me to use my commute times to study vocab.

the practice test is extremely helpful. also the vocabulary flashcards helps a lot too.

it helps me a lot on the verbal part of new gre. after practicing on magoosh, the real test was so easy for me, but i did not manage the time well and only got 160.

the video courses helped me a lot in understanding the scope of gre and preparing for it. the vocabulary mobile app is convenient.

magoosh was everything i needed to prepare for the gre.dont go for any other material.this is the only thing that you need to ace the gre.

first time: i skimmed all of the videos once trying to watch all of them. i also took multiple practice tests and practice questions. i went through all 1000 flashcards and felt comfortable with them.

second time: watching the videos again for the math section really helped me the second time around. i did not use any of the verbal section videos to study. i did not use magoosh flashcards, i used another app that had 5000 words.

magoosh is extremely helpful. i'm not the person who would like to 'waste time' completing a survey. however, i only spend half a month to get such satisfactory score. during the preparation, i even didn't read the official guide(i know it's not recommended :p). i only watched the lessons and practiced the questions and magoosh helped me free form the pain the take the gre again!
