i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

i really enjoyed the specialized videos: they helped me effectively troubleshoot my weakest areas with the 5-15 minute break down of specific skills. i also enojyed being able to adjust what types of questions appeared in my practice session. that customizability is important!

videos and exercises were very useful

to be honest, i just study for a month before my gre. luckily, magoosh's vocab list is awesome and save my life! i still remember magoosh predicted me getting the range of 141-146 at the beginning of my study. but just within a month of practice, my verbal skills (especially vocab) boost significantly. for math, i do love the detail explanation of each exercise and the video of each topic! well done magoosh!

in math, magoosh helped me get into the right mindset so i could quickly recognize how i was supposed to approach the problem, greatly helping the time i spent on each problem.

i was dreading the quantitative reasoning section of the gre because, by the time i decided to take the test, it had been over five years since i had any exposure to the math concepts that appear on it. magoosh was extremely helpful because it presented lessons on these concepts in a way that i found digestible and reassuring. furthermore, for both the verbal and qr sections of the test, magoosh taught me about the idiosyncrasies of gre question types, so that i was able to read between the lines of any given question and effectively navigate the test as a whole.

magoosh provides excellent practice problems that really help you to master the gre way of thinking. coming into my gre study month, i had difficulty understanding the reasoning behind certain problems, such that i would stumble while trying to go through unnecessary calculations. thanks to magoosh, i had none of that on my actual test. i am very happy to have purchased magoosh and i believe that it represents excellent value-for-money.

magoosh undoubtedly has played a crucial part in my gre preparation. the video tutorials were absolutely amazing! i especially focused on the math lessons which remarkably matched my requirements. the best part about the lessons was that they emphasized on the underlying concepts rather than just teaching the formulae. the lessons were clear, short and effective. i would highly recommend magoosh for anyone preparing for the gre!

based on comparison with unofficial practice tests from earlier this summer, i improved both my math and verbal scores by over ten points! also, as i was taking the exam, i noticed question after question where i was able to apply concepts i learned in the tutorials. i also found the quant section in the actual exam to be much easier than the problems i did here.

relearn simple math/ learn new words

i am a late 30's career changing mom of a 2.5 year old who studied during his afternoon naps. after doing some practice problems online and realizing how difficult they were i decided to do some research and found magoosh mentioned in a blog post. my last calculus class was in undergraduate 20 year ago. mike mcgarry was a godsend and i basically believe that if i had ever had a math teacher as talented when i was in middle/high school then my relationship to math would have been very different. i actually enjoyed studying even though i felt frequently overwhelmed by the enormous task of relearning everything during the 7 weeks of my summer break from teaching. i just wanted to get an average math score, as i am applying to education not engineering programs, and to boost my already above average verbal tendencies. i was so happy to be able to do that and to genuinely feel that i was not wasting my time while studying but rather accessing a part of my brain that had been asleep for awhile. i am so glad that i did not waste travel time, childcare $ plus the exhorbitant cost of tuition to attend the kaplan class nearby.

i used practically all the math videos to brush up on all those concepts. i liked the ability to do practice questions and the ability to choose the difficulty and subtopics. i used one of the study plans as a rough guideline and it was nice to know where to start.
