i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

i really appreciated having the videos as a very straightforward and thorough companion for the material, and all the practice problems were super helpful as well. watching the videos was definitely an excellent complement to learning from books (particularly since they contained strategy as well as content), and i liked having a sense of how quickly i was going and how i might score.

magoosh's lessons are truly superb. mostly the math section provides every single tip you might need pn the actual exam. thus, if you seriously commit to watch and learn all of them, there is no way you can fail.
for the verbal section, the reading comprehension answering technique greatly enhances the celerity with which i could go through the "prosaic and never ending" texts in the actual exam. in addition, i found some of the practice questions well above the level of the real exam. this was an inavaluable asset when i was struggling with the difficult section and provided me with the confidence i needed to remain self possessed.
last but not least, the team at magoosh was extrmely munificent with swift answers and tips. always obliging and making the gre studying trip less of a glum night walk in the forest.

the lecture videos especially in the verbal section were very helpful and gave me really useful tips on how to tackle even the most intricate of problems. the tests were also very challenging, and it gave me a very good idea about the actual gre. the explanations for each of the problems was very detailed and lucid!

my entire prep was on magoosh. the constant timer on all questions constantly kept me wanting to increase my pace. greatly helped me on the exam day. all round, beautiful experience. the flashcards were a life saver and so effective. thanks.

it was my main studying tool! i study best through practice problems and working things out on my own, so having tons of practice problems was a great help to me.

this is my first time taking the gre, but my first practice test was 165 verbal, 155 quant, so i saw a 14 point increase, which i'm very happy with. the math videos and ability to customize practice questions were especially helpful.

magoosh is awesome for gre preparation. i have completed all quant questions almost 5 times and i think this is the secret of my perfect score. combination of magoosh with ets's official prep material is enough to ace gre. and watching all video lessons more than once helped me to understand the topics in depth.

on math: read the question and calculate only what is asked; all questions are worth the same points; ignore the calculator (never used it); estimate and approximate; simplify.
on verbal: in reading comp, answer the question first, then look at the answer options.
on the overall test: i was given three math and two verbal sections--and the last section was math. i took to heart the recommendation to "do it as if every question matters", because i was really fatigued for the last few math questions. i kept repeating the recommendation when i was tempted to just stop. (in hindsight i think the middle math section was the experimental one, and the final math section was "for real".)

great video lectures and high frequency questions helped me get a satisfactory verbal score. affordable and easy to use, magoosh offers one of the best prep materials for the gre.

with a month to prepare, the magoosh program really helped me identify the areas i most needed to improve while teaching me practical approaches to all types of questions. i especially liked the fact that almost all video explanations for practice problems were within 1-2 minutes in length which is good pacing for the problems on the test itself. thanks for your help!!

the question bank is a great feature that allows you to familiarize yourself with the type of questions on the gre. also, you can practice for a long time without getting too bored. i think that mainly what made the difference.
