you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

i did almost all the practice problems and lesson videos. they were ridiculously helpful and felt very close to the real test. the explanation videos were great too and i never came away from a problem not understanding it. it was easy to mark problems i wanted to revisit and keep track of what areas i needed to focus on.

verbal section was amazing. however, the math section was not of great help to me, as the levels of easiness/difficulty weren't exactly like the actual gre.

lots of high quality practice problems. good video explanations. i did not use the lessons much, but they were helpful when i did.

verbal mostly

provided readily accessible study materials that enabled me to study in spite of a hectic work schedule.

the 90 day study plan kept me on track to reach my goal of at least a 320. my first practice test i scored a 314 (157 quant 157 verbal), and i was able to improve by 18 points!

the explanation on every single question made by chris is very helpful, i can get immediate response on the thinking process. over and over again, you get improved before you realize.

magoosh questions are very close to actual gre questions. their video explanations were so helpful to me. thank u, magoosh.

practice exams were helpful

it gave me an easy to follow, methodical study plan. most helpful was that it fave me a lot of problems to solve, and then told me how to solve them.

also i applied to four highly competitive phd programs and got into three of them.

offers challenging questions

magoosh very correctly mimicked the actual gre, helping me feel familiar and at ease with the format on test day. the best individual portion of magoosh is the video that accompanies every practice question.

practice, practice, practice!

helped me with quant because practice problems were harder than actual test.

love the timed math questions, with the data afterwards that explains how long you took as compared to the average. loved the video explanations that showed me faster ways to do the same problem. loved the vocab app that i could use easily when at the gym. couldn't recommend you guys more.

the verbal part is really helpful. the vocabulary flashcard is wonderful.

it help me a lot in preparing verbal test. the exercises in magoosh cover the most important aspects in gre and they are challenging.

got me up to speed in 3 months. i had not touched a quadratic equation in 15 years, but through magoosh, my gre score was good enough for me to get into my masters program.

the selection of very hard math questions was excellent and exactly what i needed to increase my familiarity and time taken per problem on the quantitative reasoning section.

it provides a lot of vocabs and math tips. hundreds of v and q questions are very good for practicing. also, the exam simulation is very helpful in preparing for the real test. it reduces anxiety and make me be able to adjust my pace and manage time. actually i used magoosh just for two weeks and memorize only half of vocabs given but still can improve my score for 4 points. had i had more time spending with it, say one or three months, my score would have been up more than that. thank you very much.

the math lessons were invaluable for reviewing old concepts and understanding the most efficient approaches for many problems. the practice problems were more challenging than the actual test, which helped ease the stress of test day.
