you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

magoosh was very helpful, english is not
my first language, so a wasn't sure how to approach the verbal section, it seemed extremely hard! thanks to magoosh (including amazing flashcards app) i really advanced in my knowledge! math section is great as well, explanations are not trivial and help develop overall logical understanding instead of just memorizing the formulas and tricks.
customer service is exceptional, i always got quick responses and help. so, again, thanks so much guys!

teachers in magoosh are very familiar with all aspects of the test and experienced in problems students might encounter.
their advice, though not personal, often pin-point the issues i had, and saved a lot time trying to figure out the right way to prepare for the test.
i had a strong background in math, so was ready to neglect preparation for quant in the very beginning. the adaptive nature of the math practice problems kept me alerted and so my quant actually improved.
magoosh taught me, from the very basic foundation, how to understand a test problem, to the techniques of analyzing and solving verbal problems. the practice problems were quite accurate and mimic real test problems, so i was quite comfortable with the format and question types during the test.

plenty of great tricks. tutorials were more helpful than any official ets study material. bank of questions were much harder than those on the gre, making the gre much easier than it would have been otherwise. video and text explanations for every problem is, by far, my favourite feature.

when i perform well, i once got 156 at the verbal section in official practice test before, but i tended to underperform in actual tests due to the pressure. the "custom practice" session is particularly helpful that i trained myself to get comfortable with the time running down, especially when working with long reading passages under time constraint. i was able to have a good performance in the actual test this time, thanks to magoosh. even after taking the test, i will still come back to magoosh and re-watch videos such as active reading, writing strategies and vocab flashcards to prepare myself better for the future.

magoosh definitely helped me learn all of the content for the math section, or at least review it since it had been years since i had covered the material in class. it also helped me practice for the verbal section with very realistic practice problems.

mostly the amount of practice, and with the quant section, just gaining confidence. doing all the problems and watching all the videos, then going back and redoing as many missed problems as i could, made me a lot less nervous going into the test. when i saw tough problems, i had, for the most part, seen similar problems before, so instead of panicking, i knew i could handle it.

provided practice problems with video explanations. also provided pacing information and feedback. also very affordable! it was a game changer!

magoosh has the most realistic questions i've seen. the video lessons, smart phone apps, large amount of questions, and detailed answer videos make magoosh a great resource. some of magoosh's questions are more difficult than what you'll see on the real exam, but it makes for great practice. i went into the gre feeling confident and prepared. i thoroughly recommend magoosh to anyone.

magoosh helped me so much with preparing for the verbal section! i already felt confident about math (majored in engineering), but i felt very intimidated by the verbal section. when i first started studying, magoosh predicted that i would get a verbal score of 147-152. after a few months of studying with magoosh, i ended up with a verbal score of 160! i didn't use any studying material besides magoosh, except for one practice test that ets provided. thank you!

i used the magoosh platform to essentially re-learn math from scratch. i hadn't studied any math for more than six years and magoosh's videos and lessons helped me understand it all better than i ever had.

it was a good problem bank for review and a good dataset to identify areas where i was slow or perhaps my knowledge was a bit infirm.

the video lessons were the most helpful. for math, i gained a better understanding of core concepts in the quant section; no questions on the gre seemed foreign math-wise . the verbal lessons gave an edge to my already keen verbal ability, particularly through detailed tricks and tips for each question type.

magoosh helped me to think faster and more efficiently. by practicing with magoosh, i got used to the types of questions on the gre. the difficulty of the questions was very similar to those in the actual gre. keep up with the good job!

magoosh provided me with a convenient source of practice questions and explanations that help me understand the strategies needed to improve my gre score. using their detailed explanations i was able to identify the types of questions better, which made them much easier to tackle.

i'm 36 years old, and i took the gre before about 15 years ago. i did fairly well when it took it before, but my scores were old. the problem was that i haven't taken a math course other than statistics in 17 years. i've also been out of graduate school for 8 years. so, when i opened up the ets to take my first practice test, i was shocked by how little i could remember, particularly on the quantitative end. i knew that i could teach myself, but i had no idea where to start. i'm thankful for magoosh giving me direction. the lessons were easy and geared specifically for the gre. i felt like a learned a lot of tricks that i otherwise may not have learned. it was crazy to think that i was learning math that i hadn't done since middle school. i'm thankful for the easy, pain-free review.

an awesome by-product was the gre verbal flashcards. i would just spend my spare time reviewing words. before i knew it, i knew the whole list. incredibly, what was the lowest score on the gre 15 years ago became my highest score because of my increase vocabulary using the flashcards. overall, magoosh is an incredible product. it it affordable and self-paced. thank you so much for all your help!
