you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

i basically only used it for math and it helped a whole lot, i went up 8 points!

provided easy-to-navigate, helpful lessons that were comprehensive. most helpful for me were the enormous amounts of practice questions and tests. preparing substantively is obviously important, but potentially an underestimated aspect of preparation is getting accustomed to practicing on a computer, like you'll actually take the test. that was so helpful.

unfortunately i barely had a couple weeks to prepare so it was not enough to make the best out of magoosh, but it helped me relax before the test as i understood better what was expected from me thanks to the practice questions.

i loved all the lesson videos. in comparison to the study book i had from princeton review, the lessons and practice questions were at a much higher level, which i needed. the challenge health score by 20 points!

great practice questions in math

just have a way to study without reading a boring manual. it's dynamic learning!

practice questions closely resembled test questions, and video reviews of each question were extremely helpful for both verbal and quant. pairing those with the lessons, i was able to reinforce content knowledge and develop strategies to save time and recognize patterns. the latter of which was sorely missing from the books i used to prepare for my first exam.

magoosh helped me understand the structure of the gre test from scratch to the finish line. the blogs, videos, and practice questions together provide a robust set of tools that are useful as well as engaging.

i took the gre after studying for the math section for a month using kaplan materials. however, math questions on the gre were very nothing like the kaplan practice. i decided to retake the exam, and bought a couple of other prep books. after a few weeks, i practically panicked because my new gre was two weeks away and i had yet to come across any material discussing the kinds of questions i had missed the first time, or practice questions at the rigor level of the test. finally i bit the bullet and purchased magoosh. i wish i had bought it the first time, since it would have saved me the cost of the second exam, let alone the hours of additional review. after studying the magoosh math section for two weeks, my quant score improved 8 points.

magoosh helped me to focus my efforts on high frequency vocab words and helped me to improve my math score by a few points - even though i have traditionally been quite bad at math.

magoosh was amazing - having previously taken kaplan prep courses (i took the gre over 10 years ago), magoosh was so much better. i used a study plan, watched videos, and more importantly, took practice tests that absolutely prepared me for the real thing. when i took the actual test, it felt exactly like taking the practice test.

the videos are much easier to follow than the ets book explanations. the latter are much more focused on the math whereas the videos review the math but within the context of the exam. i love that there is an explanation for every practice problem. it's great that i can change the speed of the videos--get through the easier information faster or slow it down to follow difficult ideas more closely. i also like that the videos have written descriptions of the information, so if for some reason listening and watching isn't clicking, i can read the explanation, too.

the math videos helped me understand concepts i had never learned or totally forgot. for my first practice test, i scored at 18th percentile in math. but on test day i made a 160 on the math section.

prior to my first attempt at the gre, i mainly used the ets official prep guide for my preparations. magoosh gave me some really useful tips on saving time and provided me with shortcuts for doing huge calculations. besides this, i was also able to access a wide array of practice questions which greatly helped me prepare for the test.

magoosh was great in preparing me for my exam. some of your very helpful products and materials for me were vocabulary flashcards, the study plan by chris, and verbal video tutorials.

magoosh was my primary source of preparation and it helped me immensely. coming from a stem academic background, and working as data analyst for the last 3 years, the verbal section of the gre was quite a challenging for me. hence i watched all of the lesson videos on magoosh, and chris' strategies on how to tackle reading comprehension, text completion and sentence equivalence questions where immensely helpful to me.

i practiced questions from the question bank extensively, and having the solutions explained for each and every question was also very beneficial.

finally, i used the magoosh vocabulary builder app on android to memorize the definitions of new/unfamiliar words which played a key role in helping develop my vocabulary.

mike's math lessons made me feel like i was back in my high school math class, and focused on understanding and refreshing concepts rather than other test prep services that rely on quick tricks for solving problems. thanks mike!
