you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

overall the questions from magoosh practices are much harder than that of the actual tests, and this made my actual test experience less stressful and i was feeling more prepared.

magoosh gave me the right material to prepare and it was very user friendly! i sort of enjoyed working on the practice questions, it was like a fun challenge.

refresh core concepts from math and provide shortcuts. also better reading comprehension techniques. of course the practice problems were a huge help too!

magoosh made the test knowable and less imposing. the math content also helped tremendously, as i have been away from math for over 10 years.

magoosh is amazing! when i started i barely knew what the gre was. thanks to magoosh, i was able to improve my standardized test taking skills significantly. magoosh's tips and detailed explanations gave me confidence to aim for a 440 (for my next test aug 29). a close-to-perfect score, especially on math, is valued for the schools i'm applying to, and i couldn't have dreamed of getting so close without magoosh!

i abolsutely love magoosh. i’m a visual and auditory learner, so i found the prep books frustrating and difficult to pay attention to. magoosh forced me to stay focused with step by step explanations on every problem. for the week leading up to the gre, i took 1-2 practice tests a day—this was key to getting my test-taking endurance up to par. so, so helpful!

magoosh's math questions were a good simulation of the type and difficulty on the actual gre. additionally, the video lectures taught me fundamentals of math that i had never encountered or had previously foegotten. overall, quite helpful.

magoosh was the greatest resource i had at my disposal when preparing for the gre. i watched a number of math videos, studied the whole list of vocabulary words, and took multiple practice tests, and i can now confidently say that magoosh helped me reach above the score that i expected on the exam. i have nothing but words of praise for this organization.

i am in immense debt to mike mcgarry's thoughtful, well-paced teaching methods. i've never had such fun learning math. even though his videos aren't personalized, i felt as though he was invested in my abilities and cared about me as a student. maybe it's just because i've had arguably cold and indifferent math teachers, but i realized with magoosh's approach to math, encouragement goes much farther to help a student learn math than negative reinforcement does.
