you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

by providing multiple ways to solve problems and really providing concise ways to approach the exam that was digestible and easy to practice. when they say practice, you practice!

flashcards is the best tool especially if you are a busy professional who spends a lot of time commuting.

magoosh helped me with the harder, higher level math problems. i found it a bit difficult to use magoosh for time pacing purposes though because the questions kept getting so progressively hard.

magoosh particularly helped me prepare for math. the first time i took the gre (before using magoosh) i struggled a lot to finish in time. but magoosh taught me a lot of tricks and shortcuts to getting answers that helped me cut down my time a lot. having the video lessons and the individual answer explanation videos for each question was also tremendously useful in keeping myself organized. i also found myself learning much better via video than from a book.

practice questions were really helpful! customized questions were also great. my actual score is very close to what magoosh predicted.

magoosh boosted my math score beyond even my initial goal! i was blown away. the videos were so strategic and helpful, and the practice problems very similar to the real thing. on my first try at the gre, i was so lost on the math section and felt like i was drowning. i had no clue how to answer anything or pace myself with timing. i thought i was doomed to never boost my score. but magoosh’s timed questions, and the sometimes counterintuitive strategies the videos provided on how to beat the test, gave me confidence and changed everything for me! recommending this product to all my friends taking the gre!

i found the lessons, study plans, and practice problems all useful.

in particular i think the fact that the environment so closely mirrors the actual test (i.e. timed and computer delivered) made it especially useful.

vocab app was the most helpful. practice verbal questions were also very helpful.

i really liked the videos! so helpful

more than anything else, magoosh helped me know how to make educated guesses on difficult problems and not fall for trap problems. i was extremely aware of the likely trap answers on the actual exam, and it helped me eliminate answer choices and make stronger guesses.

provided a study plan with well organized topics for all 3 sections of the gre. the structure was helpful because it helped me identify areas that i needed to work on. practice was possible also because of all the practice problems available with each video explanation. a big help in math were the counting and probability modules. surprisingly, the awa sections were also really helpful: they helped me hash out my own outline/formula for writing the essays. vocab flashcarda were also tremendously useful.
