you, our next thriving student?

i purchased a couple manhattan prep books, ets's official guide, different phone apps, etc. yet i ended up using magoosh's online application almost exclusively. i work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. i was exhausted most nights after work before i even sat down to study... without the structure that magoosh provides i would not have been able to be nearly as effective. i did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. i scored a 331; what else can i say? magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. it has everything you need, trust me.

magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. i followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. while i couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), i still believe magoosh helped me a lot. i learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, i always had a plan to follow so i couldn't second-guess myself.

it allowed for rapid fire practice or for a targeted and focused practice session, and had video explanations to make sure i understood. the videos were very helpful, and the videos for the official materials was great as well.

basically the verbal section was very helpful via the questions being similar to the ets questions, and the vocabulary software.

i liked getting all the reps on the problems. i really thought i would do better than i did with how much i studied. i am very disappointed that my score went down after i went through every practice problem in magoosh. i saw problems in the gre that i had never encountered (or couldn’t remember seeing) in the gre. i thought i understood them in spite of that because of what i learned through magoosh but i guess i really struggled.

i had around week to prepare because i’m a student and didn’t have a lot of free time between classes and finals. i went over the manhattan prep gre books (only the math) over the course of several months (just skimmed through them) i signed up for the magoosh because i had heard good things, and also i needed access to a lot of questions (and answers) solving the practice problems helped me zone into where i was lacking conceptually, and i used the videos to help with that. i gave 2 practice papers on magoosh before moving on to the ets papers. the magoosh papers were a little tougher for the verbal than the actual test, and i thought the quant was about the same. my score predictions were quite accurate, and it helped me gain some confidence before the exam.

the customizable practice question set was of great help in setting my pace and improving my speed. some insights in the video lessons were also very helpful. all the necessary topics were covered and topics which i wouldn't normally study in detail came in the actual test which were discussed in the video lessons in depth.

i've never taken gre test before, so using magoosh system really helped me to get familiar with the computer delivered test. by arranging the time and categoties of the question, i felt quite comfortable to using your product. the vedio explaination also very helpful.

the study plans were very helpful in helping me plan out m studying. moreover, i liked how there were multiple resources involved (not just the magoosh platform). i was able to incorporate thousands of questions into my practice in addition to multiple practice exams. this compilation of gre resources and structured practice gave me the confidence and stamina to succeed on test day!

a lot of tips for understanding the test like deductions for calculator use and understanding what a question is asking for was really important.

the english was very helpful. i didnt do any of the math problems so i cant vouch for the math but the english explanations and timer was extremely helpful.

it allowed me to learn at my own pace and focus on those areas that i most needed.

the mobile app allowed me to watch lesson videos on the go, wherever i was. likewise, the vocabulary app was easy and convenient for a physical flashcard hater like myself. i found the detailed and unassuming math videos very helpful but please make a highlights reel or summary. by the time i got thru 28 hours i needed a recap. its a lot. on the verbal side, the consistently used technique of coming up with the answer before reading the answer options was simple and highly effective. being aware of common traps meant i didn't fall for nearly as many. finally, i really liked the dashboard score predictor and the comprehensive question review features.
