we’re proud of our students and we think it’s time that the world met them already. that’s why we created this new “student of the month” blog series, so we can introduce you to some of the amazing magoosh test preppers around the world. we think you’ll find each person just as inspiring as we do, so let’s get to it!
the first student of the month is caitlin! (you may recognize her from our stories page.)
caitlin is a recent graduate of azusa pacific university where she studied applied exercise science and decided she wanted become a doctor of physical therapy. (p.s. the picture at the top is from her undergrad study abroad trip to south africa — so cool!) caitlin studied with us to raise her gre score and now she’s headed off to start her doctoral program at pacific university in august! but first, we snagged her for a quick interview to get her thoughts on the future and a glimpse at what she hopes to achieve.
here we go…
how do you feel about starting at pacific university in the fall?
i have so many different emotions when i think about starting school in the fall. i’m really excited for the opportunity to advance my education in the area of pt. when i think about starting a doctorate program i get nervous, but i know how lucky i am to get this opportunity.
what are you most looking forward to?
i look forward to finally starting a physical therapy program! all throughout my undergraduate program my goal was to one day get into a dpt program. it’s a daunting task and as a freshman in college i thought that this day would never come! i can’t wait to begin learning more about the human body so that one day i will be able to help others!
what’s your dream career?
if i could do anything in the world for a career i would be a professional soccer player! i grew up playing and watching soccer and absolutely love it. in this dream world i would of course be on the usa national team and would soon be heading to the women’s world cup!
what are the top 3 items on your bucket list?
- backpack through europe
- see the northern lights
- go to a cooking school in italy
what’s one piece of advice you have for other gre test takers out there?
one piece of advice i would give to other test takers is to give yourself plenty of time to study. i made the mistake of only studying for a few weeks the first time i took the gre and received poor test scores. the gre is expensive to take and it’s worth it to give it your best shot the first time around! i would have saved money and time if i had done this!
thanks, (future) dr. caitlin! we wish you all the best in your endeavors. 🙂 stay in touch!
